Maid in Paris - costume discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by married with children

This shows up in your typical plastic bag with an attached hanger. The type you see in department stores and costume shops this type of year. There is nothing special about it, but it can be use for storage even though it is not your best option. There is a large cardboard insert in the front, showing off a model wearing the outfit. You get her modeling in two different positions. You get two pictures of her from the front, one each with and without the skirt. And then one picture from behind, slightly bent over. The packaging is not that discreet, at least with the insert in it. The insert is easily removeable, as you could take it out as soon as you get it in the mail. That would help with little eyes and who ever else you did not want seeing it.

Like stated above, you could keep the plastic bag for storage. But it is not the best option, at least in my opinion. We keep ours in the lingerie drawer with the other outfits similar to this one. The less plastic bags sitting around in the closet taking up space, the better. This is a hand wash only type of outfit. You also can not bleach it, not that I think anyone would. So not only do you need to hand wash these, but you will also need to drip dry them. Anyone who has read any of my reviews on hand wash lingerie know that I dislike hand washing. We have to try to find a spot to allow them to drip dry, and at the same time keep the little eyes from viewing the lingerie. I can be a hassle, depending on the outfit.

This is made in China, for those who care. I don't see why this could not be made here. I would be more then happy to spend my money on something made here, instead of overseas. Just a thought in case Seven Til Midnight reads this review.

This is a 6 piece set. You get the bodysuit, the headpiece, the choker, the skirt, the apron, and a duster. You can use the costume with or with out the skirt. You can get about 3 different looks with this set.

This is made from a combination of 90% Polyester and 10% spandex. This also tends to be typical of a lot of the costumes sold on eden's website. The lingerie material will very from outfit to outfit, but the costumes all tend to be this mixture.

The feather duster is pretty cheap, do not expect this to hold up for very long. The handle is a cheap thin plastic, and I cant tell if the feathers are real or not. This could be a nice extra, if they had spent just a touch more on the material giving it some higher quality.

The head band is also cheap, though a step above the duster. It is constructed of plastic, covered in material. The top has a patch of white material with a black ribbon bow sewn in the center. The plastic hand band feels like it is made from the same cheap plastic as the duster, and the material has some rough edges. The ribbon bow is also poorly sewn and uneven.

This also comes with a leg garter, which is not listed on the product page or on the packaging. The leg garter is made from a 1 1/2 inch wide piece of white material with a 3/4 inch black ribbon running down the center. On the center of the black ribbon is a black bow made from the same black ribbon. This is not adjustable. It closes with Velcro, and the Velcro is only a 3/4 inch square patch. So there is no adjustment there. I would have liked to see this be a one piece with elastic so it would fit more leg sizes. This did not fit my wife's leg as well as she would have liked it to. It had to sit in just the right spot to fit, and it just did not look right. There were quite a bit of loose threads on the material, overall I would rate the craftsmanship as poor.

The apron is shiny, almost satin looking. Since there is no tags on it to tell me if the material used on the apron is different then the rest of the outfit, I would have to say its the same. Even though it looks like a different mixture or materials. The apron is cute, but poorly constructed. There were loose threads everywhere on this. And the seams were poor and mismatched. The apron consists of a two inch wide white ribbon at the top and a rectangular piece of white material attached to the ribbon. The material is almost see through, it is pretty thin. This could have been put together so much better. The apron is about 9 inches tall. The ribbon is about 54 inches end to end.

The skirt is a one piece, with elastic in the waist band. The waist band does not have much stretch to it. It might gain 1 inch in diameter when fully stretched. It is not much. I was surprised by this lack of range, as I expected much more. The skirt has two layers. The outside layer is a solid black. The inside layer is a combination of black netting and solid white material. The inner layer extends past the outer layer. The total length of the skirt is about 13 inches. The white extends past the outer layer by about 2 inches. Overall, the look of the skirt is sexy. You get the duel layer body to it. The black has a shine to it. It is really too bad that the waist band is not adjustable. Also, the tag on the skirt says you can machine wash it, while the packaging says to hand wash.

The body stocking is pretty much all black. It does have a small amount of white trim above the breasts. The trim consists of a 1 inch wide white ribbon sewn to the top above the bust area. There is a small black ribbon sewn down the middle of the larger white ribbon, breaking up the color. In the center of the bust area, is a black ribbon bow. The same size bow as on the rest of the outfit pieces. You can barely see the bow, as it blends in with the solid black body of the body stocking. The stocking has 4 removable garter straps. The black garter straps has bows at the bottom end where they would attach to the stockings. I like that you can remove the garter straps. Some of us don't always wear thigh highs every time we dress up in lingerie. The body stocking has two removable shoulder straps. So depending on your style, you can use them or not. On the back of the body stocking, they have included a zipper. It unzips about half way down the back. The zipper helps when putting this on, or taking it off. The body stocking does have a crotch, which did not work for us.

This fit my wife pretty well. She is about 125 pounds and a 34 B. It was tight in some areas, and loose in others. But over all, it fit her just fine for a costume.

My wife has not worn this since I wrote the original review. I know why, it is not a surprise to me why this is not getting any use. It is just not that great of a outfit compared to the other maid outfits that we have. It is too much of a headache to wear and have sex with it still on. Takes too long to put on, just to turn around and have to take it off for intercourse or oral sex to take place. Yes, it is cute, just not practical.
