Okay, for a first corset.

The fully boned corset is a beautiful corset. It's perfect if you don't plan on wearing it for a very long time. The plastic boning has a tendency to warm up to your body and you kind of lose the cinching look. It's a perfect starting point, and perfect for beginners. I just think I had my hope set a little too high, so I was a bit let down.

extremely useful review
I’ve been dying to try a corset. I've wanted to try one since I came across a video online. I thought about getting a metal boned corset. I thought I'd try one with plastic boning before dishing out the cash for a metal one. I can say that I wasn't proud of this corset. It almost made me want to forget corsets all together.

When I ordered this corset, I was so excited, and I was even more excited when it came in the mail. This corset comes in a clear plastic bag with the corset inside. The plastic bag isn't anything special, and you can trash it if you like. I decided to keep mine to keep it safe from other items in my closet. This corset also comes with a beautiful black padded hanger. The hanger is perfect for hanging up your corset. The hanger does have the Coquette logo. You can and should keep the hanger.

Now, when I took the corset out of the package I was so excited. I loved the way that it felt. It looks well made. I was worried about getting some frayed ends, but mines didn't come with any. When hanging on the hanger this item was just extremely beautiful. I'm not the one for wearing red, but I really loved the way that it looked.

Okay, let's talk about the make of the corset.

The fully boned corset is made up of two different materials. The first material would have to be the lace. The lace is very beautiful, and it isn't that cheap lace that you would have to worry about ripping, but it does look fragile. The lace is in a flower pattern. The lace is very beautiful. Under the lace is this red satin. The satin is very soft, and when you run your fingers over it, it almost feels like silk to me. When you are washing this corset, you should hand wash it, and allow it to air dry, placing it into the washer or dryer, can ruin your corset.

The constriction of the corset is okay, but I don't think its top of the line. This is where I started too full out if love with this corset. The fully boned corset IS boned, but it's boned with thick plastic rods, and not metal ones. I didn't think it would matter. I thought a corset, was a corset. I was wrong, plastic boned corsets don't hold up very well. I notice that it doesn't hold you in very well, and when you've worn it for a decent amount of time the plastic boning warms up, because of your body heat, and it starts to mold to the shape of your body. This isn't good, because there is nothing holding you in.

There are 14 rows of plastic boning that are about 13 inches in length, and are about 4 inches apart. The boning runs all around the whole corset, until you get to the back. The back of the corset is a string back. With the back being adjustable, makes it easier to customize. My corset did not come with the strings pre-pulled, so I would know which to pull. What I had to do is start from the top, and make my way down tightening them as I made my way down. I did this from the bottom up. I stopped when I had extra string in the middle to pull and adjust. This KILLED me. I was so annoyed I took me about 6 tries to get it right. There is NO privacy panel in the back where it strings up, so if you don't mind your back showing this is perfect.

The front of the corset has a hook and eye closure. The hook and eye closure will allow you to put on the corset, and tighten it in the back. It also allows you do take it off without undoing the tie in the back, but when putting it on you should loosen up the back, and put it on, and then tighten up the strings in the back.

The purpose of wearing a corset is to hold you in, and give you an hour glass shape, but this doesn't do it. It's beautiful if you're going to wear it for only a couple of minutes, but it's so pretty that you would want to wear it for longer. It looks perfect pared up with some nice jeans, and a pair of awesome shoes.

This corset runs a little large, I ordered a 3x/4x and it was WAY too large. Being able to tighten it up in the back helped with me buying it too large, but it doesn't help in the boob area. The fully boned corset doesn't have any cups, or padding, so there in no real support for your boobs. The lack of cups can make your boobs seem to sink in, and seem a little low. The corset also comes with shoulder straps, so you can use the straps for extra support if needed.

Measurements for the 3x-4x

3X/4X (Coquette measurements)

24 - 28 –Dress size
D 52 – 56- Bra size
44 - 48 –Waist size
54 – 58-Hip size

My Measurements

18-Dress size
52 D-Bra Sizes
44- Waist
56.5 Hips

I don't wear a 24/28, but I ordered this one because the measurements are about the same as mine. I wish they had these measurements, but in a size 18. The corset also comes with Garters. I personally don't use them, but for the sake of this review, I tried them out. I only wore them for about 3 hours, but they held up very well.

I've had this corset now for about 3 months, and the plastic rods are starting to poke out of the corset. This is causing the boning to scratch me, and it's highly uncomfortable. It annoyed me to no end. I was just so upset with this item. I wanted to love it so bad. I also didn't like it doesn't have a privacy panel in the back. I personally don't want my back fat showing for the world to see, it's a very UNSEXY sight. When I do wear this outside, I wear it with a nice cardigan or sweater, so no one can see the back.
