Red soda pop girl - costume discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by orange_cutie

I requested this assignment to surprise my boyfriend over spring break. He’s always loved the idea of cutout mini dresses and the Red Soda Pop Girl costume was perfect!

Personally, I am always a little wary of ordering lingerie or costumes online due to sizing issues. However, EF provides an accurate sizing chart for Leg Avenue costumes and this Red Soda Pop Girl dress fit like a glove. A word of warning though; choose your size based on your largest body part. For example I have 38” hips and ordered a large as per the sizing chart. However, the top didn’t quite fit as it was made for a large bust as well. On a good day, I only have a 34” bust so I had to gather and safety pin the back strap of the dress to avoid gaps. So if you have larger hips and a smaller bust, be prepared to alter either the back strap or the halter.

This dress is very simple to slip into; then again it’s a little more difficult to get out of in the heat of the moment. There are 3 basic components that hold the dress in place; the halter, the back strap, and the mini skirt. It’s quite easy to forget about one of these components and snag or rip the dress due to the cutouts. The moral of the story is that if your significant other is less than skillful at dress removal during foreplay, save them the trouble and remove it beforehand.

The material is 100% polyester so it does stretch and give. But, because it is polyester, it does get hot under that mini skirt after a while, in more ways than one! As seen in the photo, the belt is purely for decoration and does not serve any practical purpose. The zipper is fully functional in comparison and, unfortunately lies right across and irritates the belly button after a while. If you have a belly button piercing, do not wear a ring with any dangling parts because I don’t believe it would end well.

Needless to say, this dress has become one of my favorites and one of my boyfriend’s favorites as well. I have no doubt you’ll love it too.

I felt the costume needed the Go-Go boots to complete the "dancer" look. So after a few searches on Google I found these great boots at BuyCostumes.com. They fit like a dream and are pretty reasonable as far as price.
