Naughty little secret chemise and g-string - chemise discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by oldman

Well, once again I find myself the lucky recipient of a sexy piece of woman's lingerie. It's a win-win situation--the Mrs. thinks I got a sweet little love gift for her, but I know its a sweet little sex gift for me--win/win--no losers here!

This is our 1st item from "Seven 'til Midnight". The "naughty little secret chemise and thong" is a pretty red mesh with black lace baby doll style chemise. The red mesh is very tightly woven so that it is sheer, but opaque enough so that everything isn't exposed. Mind you, don't wear this around the kids, but it is sexy because it keeps you guessing. And guessing what lays beneath only makes you want it more...and more...and more.

The boring, yet most wanted, details: This is made in China of 92% polyester and 8% spandex. Most happily, it is machine washable (cold water) and dryable. The entire piece is red mesh with the cups and a 3" band covered with black lace in a rather typical rose floral pattern. The edges of the cups and back are finished with a narrow piece of black elastic. The straps are .5" wide of adjustable black elastic and there are 2 strips of satin ribbon (.375" X 18" each) which can be tied in back. The picture posted in the EF description gives the impression that the back is very low. That is not the case--the top of the back is right in line with the band in the front. The ribbon is a nice idea, but it really adds nothing to the appearance and we removed it by simply cutting it off. There is no evidence that it ever exhisted.

Each cup is 7.5" wide and 6" tall at the center seam. There is a small, very pretty, red ribbon rose with 2 green ribbon leaves and a black bow between the cups. It adds an interesting detail and isn't large enough to be distracting. At the side seams the garment is 22" long and at the center back seam it is 18" long. Because the back is not low (as in the picture) the hem in the back is short and exposes some very nice looking butt cheeks. The measurement at the bottom of the black lace band is 16.5", with plenty of stretch. There is a 7" slit in each side seam.

The Seven 'til Midnight size chart lists the XL with the following measurements: cup size--D/DD; bust 38"--40"; waist 30"--32" and hips 40"--42". With the exception of the cup size, these measurements are accurate but buyer beware: this is a clingy chemise. If you are seeking something loose and flowy, keep looking (or if you wear a smaller size, order up). If you are larger than a B cup, expect to have lots of deep cleavage. There is no underwire and no real support in this piece.

A G-string made from the same red mesh and black elastic comes with this. There is a tiny piece of red cotton lining the panty but it is hardly enough to offer any hygenic protection. It is a poor attempt at being helpful to women.

Now, the Mrs. turned 59 last month and let's face it, although still a sexy beauty, she is so much softer and fluffier than the model posing in this for EF. I like the way it clings to her curves and shows off her tight little butt (no fluff there...) but if you expect to look like the model, well, think again. I think everyone has to be mindful of our body type and try to impose the images we see on the reality of our bodies. Just a thought.

The construction is not done well. The seams do not line up evenly and there are many loose threads that had to be trimmed. The G-string is nothing more than a small triangle of red mesh and some narrow elastic. The Mrs. refuses to wear anything that climbs up her butt (except me) and I can see why. I just don't see how a G-string can be comfortable. Just a thought.

We still like this, which is more like a "baby doll" than anything else. Mrs. doesn't wear the g-string (you can guess why) but all in all this has held up better than expected. It does get machine washed in a lingerie net kind of bag so that protects it somewhat. It looks good and doesn't wrinkle. I would buy this again: it isn't top notch quality, but its not bad either. Expect the red part to be pretty sheer.
