Stretch lace chemise - chemise discontinued by Coquette - review by SMichelle

I've lusted after this piece several times over the last year, yet somehow it's never ended up in my cart. It seems that there were always other pieces that stood out more, so I neglected ordering this classic looking piece. Now that I have it in my hands, I'm sad that I waited so long. Don't get me wrong, this piece is NOT perfect. It is, however, an absolute classic, and it's so pretty and sexy that I find myself wanting to wear it all the time.

Basics:
This classic looking chemise is made by Coquette. For the purchase price of $29.99, you receive just the chemise. The chemise is available only in black, with a light pink trim.

The price of $29.99 may seem a little high for only a chemise, but you're really receiving is a great multi-purpose item. This item is sexy enough that it can be used to seduce your lover, but it's also comfortable enough that you can sleep in it. Further, it's basic enough that you can wear it out, just so long as you wear it over a camisole or something of that sort, and pair it with a pair of pants.

Material & Care:
The tag states that this chemise is made out of 100% Nylon.

Aside from the pink trim, this piece all black lace. The lace is a floral pattern. As the material is lace, this piece is very sheer.

The lace material is stretchy, though there is some limitations to that stretch. I would say that you can expect the OS to stretch to fit between a Small and a Large -- possibly even an XL. Larger sizes should order the Plus Size, in my opinion, because as I said -- the stretch is limited.

The fabric is comfortable on my skin. In fact, it's comfortable enough to sleep in, which is exactly what I purchased this for.

As far as durability goes? This piece does feel pretty strong, but it probably won't stand up to any major abuse. If you and your partner plan on getting rough, take this piece off so it doesn't get torn.

To care for this chemise, it's recommended that you hand wash this and hang it to dry. I have put in a mesh lingerie bag, and then through the delicate cycle of my washing machine, without a problem, however.

Sizing:
This item is available in two different sizes: one size fits most, and plus size. I chose to go with the one size fits most option.

According to the size chart, the OSFM chemise should fit someone with the following measurements:
Cups: B
Bust: 34-40"
Waist: 26-32"
Hips: 36-42"

I wear a 34d bra, most of the time. I also have a 32" waist, and 40" hips. I was expecting this piece to be snug on me -- especially on my breasts. In reality -- yes, it's quite snug, but it's also comfortable.

If you're measurements are more than an inch or two larger than mine, I would recommend sizing up, just to be on the safe side.

Length wise, I am 5'6" and I was able to pull this chemise down to mid-thigh length, which is plenty long enough for a chemise.

Design:
The design of this chemise is very simple, and in my own opinion, absolutely classic.

It's a single layer chemise that is designed to hug your curves. It features adjustable shoulder straps, so you can adjust it so that it's comfortable for you.

The chemise does not have any underwire, molded cups, or padding, so it doesn't offer any bust support. Still, for a nightie, that's not a huge deal.

For the most part, the chemise is just black lace. There is, however, pink trim to accent the beautiful material. The pink trim is found around the top and bottom of the chemise. Firstly, there's a straight line of pink trim going around both the bottom and top of the chemise. After that line, there's a little black, mesh ruffle; the edges of that ruffle are then finished off with light pink detailing.

The ruffle on the chemise is very beautiful, and it's not at all overwhelming. What is overwhelming, in my opinion, is the gigantic bow that founds right in the center of the bust. Don't worry though, that gigantic bow is easily removed, as it's put on there with a safety pin.

Packaging:
This came packaged in a plastic bag, with a nice padded hanger. There was also a hang tag attached to the chemise; the hang tag features photographs of the model wearing the chemise.

Quality:
I have no complaints about quality; I didn't even notice a single loose thread!

Ah, one of my favorite pieces! It's incredibly beautiful and comfortable, and it's also up well to a lot of use. I've slept in this many times -- it's that comfortable! I just wish that this piece wasn't discontinued so I could pick up a second one!
