Mesh ruffle tanga with bow - sexy panties by Leg Avenue - review by Breas

The Mesh Ruffle Tanga Panty by Leg Avenue is available in sizes 1X and 2X. I purchased the size 1X. My default size is XL, but after looking at Leg Avenue’s size chart, the 1X seems to be fairly similar in suggested measurements as the XL with Coquette items, which is the company I own the most pieces from.

The panty arrived in a clear plastic baggy. The only text on the bags was a barcode sticker that stated the size. There was a cardboard tag attached to the panty. The front of the tag had a photo of a model wearing the panty and stated the company name, product name, and size. The back of the tag stated the same information as the front along with the care instructions, material composition, and company contact information. The packaging is not ideal for storing the panty. I just keep mine in my underwear drawer.

The material to the panty is 95% nylon and 5% spandex. The black bow made of ribbon at the top centre front of the panty is 100% polyester. The material to the panty is stretchy and there is elastic band trimming the top. The material is black in colour and a mesh. The mesh is sheer.

Waistband unstretched: 14 ½ inches
Waistband stretched as much as I could: 33 inches
Length of panty (taken down side): 4 ½ inches
Length of liner: 3 ½ inches

There is a huge bow made of ribbon at the top centre front of the panty. The bow is black with a little sparkly gem at the centre. The bow is just less than 4 inches wide and 5 inches in length. The bow is attached to the panty with only a couple of stitches so it could be removed permanently from the panty if you didn’t like it. Since it’s only attached with a few stitches, you don’t need a seam ripper.

Beneath the bow at the top centre front, the panty is plan black mesh. This area is 5 ¾ inches wide unstretched (right below the bow). On either side of this area is a piece of thin black ribbon running vertically down the panty. The area inside of these ribbons is the only area of the panty that doesn’t have the rows of ruffles on it. The stock photo makes this area look opaque but it’s actually sheer. The model seems to be wearing a black g-string beneath the panty to not reveal anything.

There are 3 rows of black mesh ruffle that run around the back of the panty. The first row if ruffles begin approximately 1 ½ inches below the top of the waistband. Each row of ruffles is approximately 1 inch in length. With the rows sitting on the stretchy mesh material, the more you stretch the mesh, the less ruffled the rows will look. The panty is well made. I did not find any loose threads to the panty.

So when I had tried the panty on, I was very pleased with the way it looked and felt. The panty is really comfortable. The mesh is soft and non-irritating to the skin. I have 41 inch hips and the 1X fit nicely. With the waistband being elastic, it can be stretched to fit those with a larger hip measurement than my own. The rows of ruffles still looked ruffled when I was wearing the panty. I found them to be quite flattering.

The only thing that I found odd about the panty was how huge the front centre top bow is. The panty is comfortable enough to be worn as an everyday style panty beneath clothing but the darn bow is so huge. When I was wearing the panty, I felt like my crotch looked ready for gift-giving… my crotch being the gift. The big bow can work in the bedroom but I would have preferred it to be a bit smaller.

The care tag states that the panty should be hand washed in cold water and drip-dried. It should not be ironed and only non-chlorine bleach should be used when needed. The care tag in the panty is quite large so you may want to cut it out of the panty, because the panty is sheer and it also may be uncomfortable.

Overall, I really like the panty. It’s pretty and comfortable. I’ve given the panty a 5 out of 5 because I really love the way it looks on me. If it were available in different colours, I’d have to get one of each colour available. The one real con to the panty is that it’s only offered in two plus sizes. I think this panty would be flattering on all shapes and sizes.

I still LOVE the Mesh Ruffle Tanga Panty! It's adorable, comfortable, and has held up well. I get quite lazy when it comes to washing my lingerie so I usually throw the items in a lingerie bag, into my washing machine on cold. This panty is no exception. The care tag states that it should be hand washed only but I've washed the panty in the washer a number of times now and it's still in perfect condition. I'm surprised it's not available in other sizes yet... it would look good on any size!
