Red devil accessory kit - hat discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by hjtee

This is your very basic devil accessory kit which includes horns, a tail, and wings. I'll run through piece by piece for the purpose of this review.

The horns are simply two triangles of fabric, attached to barrettes (hair clip - the snap type that many children wear). This type of clip is great for holding the horn in place in your hair. The downside is that the clip is black, as is the fabric strip used to attach it to the horn, so if your hair is a lighter color, it might be a bit noticeable. The fabric is a shiny nylon. The horns are not stuffed with anything, so they seem quite flat compared to what I had thought they would be.

The tail is made of the same shiny nylon as the horns. It's your basic costume tail. Long, stuffed with fluff, and attaches using a safety pin (the kit does come with the safety pin attached to the tail). One bonus feature that I don't see often on other costume tails is that this devil tail is bendable. You can point it up and not feel like you have a dangling appendage between your legs!

The wings, in my opinion are the cheapest part of this costume. They are great if you just want to get one use out of them. They are made of a thin nylon (similar to hosiery), stretched over a wire frame. In my experience, that type of material tears easily, and this set of wings is no exception. By the end of the day, my wings were long gone. They are quite nice if you can take extra care of them. The tops of the wings are covered in a red glitter. The armbands used to hold them in place are very thin, at around 1/4 inch, at most. They are made of elastic, so they will fit a range of sizes.

The pieces of this costume aren't oversized or bulky, so you could even double its use and dress the kids up as little devils for trick-or-treating! You would probably have to tie the armbands to prevent sliding, though.
