Robyn da hood - costume discontinued by DreamGirl - review by SaMiKaY

The Robyn da Hood costume by Dream Girl arrived in my mailbox wrapped in a Halloween costume-like bag with a picture of the model wearing it on the front along with a list of what was included. The extras are what had me ordering this to begin with! Normally, you'll find moderately cute costumes with just the dress and then you have to then find all the cute accessories to make it look even remotely like the picture.

Robyn, however, came with the dress, cincher, hat/feather, and wrist cuffs! The only thing missing were the super cute boots, but for $50 you can't go wrong.

The dress feels like a stretchy jersey fabric that hugs to your body. While it is comfortable, it definitely isn't for someone afraid of showing every little bump and crevice in your body. It buttons up with plastic snaps in the front that remind me of the snaps on Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers. The cincher is more for looks than for actual cinching as the string isn't very strong, but it looks very pretty on the dress.

As for the cuffs and hat, well they fit like you would think they would! The hat is plastic with a green felt over the top.

One thing I love about this dress is that you can drop the cincher/cuffs/hat and wear it as just a cute green dress (maybe for St. Patty's Day). It's cute enough without the accessories to do this with and isn't cheaply made so you don't feel like you're wearing a costume from a department store.

The costume is made from polyester and spandex so wash it in warm water (not hot/boiling) with sudsy soap and line dry or lay flat to dry. I do not recommend washing the hat.

I do think this is worth the $50 price tag mostly because of all the accessories you get with it. Even the cute little money bag is a nice addition! If all else fails, my 4-year-old daughter loves to play dress up and the hat is now her favorite.

Even though I can't wear this costume right now due to my growing belly, I still like it. A friend of mine borrowed it for a costume party and it was a hit there as well!
