Mesh santa chemise - costume discontinued by Coquette - review by Pete's Princess

The Mesh Santa Chemise is a mixed bag of naughty and nice. Parts were well put together and of great quality and other parts were not.
The Nice
*The body of the chemise was of good quality.
*The stitching was even and did not have any loose threads.
*All the seams were tight and the material was of good quality.
The Naughty and not in a good way
*The ends of the underwires are not finished off well and poked me a bit. I assume with regular wear this will eventually come through the material.
*The white feathery trim on the top is secured lightly with 10 stitches. Two of these stitches came apart when I was trying it on. Also the feathery trim sheds a bit.
*The garters are not removable or adjustable.
*There is no ability to tighten the band under the cups.

Material and Care
80% Nylon
20% Spandex

Hand wash only. Hang to dry. Although it does not say, you should wash in cold water with a gentle detergent. You will also want to be sure to dry the metal accents so they do not rust. I am not confident of the feather accent holding up to washing. Since it is only stitched in a few places, I may just remove it if I need to do more than spot cleaning of the top.

Design
The Chemise body is made of a red see through mesh (on the sides) and a red nylon fabric (center of back and front). These two fabrics are joined together by a shiny patent leather look black trim with red stitching. On the sides are two strips of the black patent leather look trim with metal eyes and a metal buckle. Although it appears that the sides are adjustable, they are not. This is merely for decoration. The first portion of the straps also has the same patent material and eyes. The remainder of the straps are like regular bra straps and adjust in the back. The cups are lightly padded with underwires. The underwires do poke a bit and may eventually poke through. There is a feathery white trip along the top of the cups that is secured with 10 tiny stitches. Between the cups is a black patent leather look bow. The bow is removable.

I am giving the Mesh Santa Chemise three stars. In some ways this is a great chemise and in others it is not. I found that it runs big as you can see from the measurements above.

The main problem for me is the lack of ability to adjust the band under the cups. For me this meant that there was no support for my breasts especially since the chemise runs large.

The garters are very short and not adjustable or removable. Although I am of average height, I found this to be a definite drawback.

The last major drawback was that the white feathery trim was not well secured and shed. As it gets a bit ratty looking, I will remove it and either replace it or just leave it off all together.

On the good side is that the material is soft and comfortable. It design is fun and unusual.
