Iridescence gown with thong - gown discontinued by Fantasy Lingerie - review by Mamastoys

I had requested the Iridescence gown with thong by Fantasy Lingerie to surprise my hubby on a weekend get away that we had planned. Well, it didn’t arrive in time to go with us but it was waiting on me when we got home. Since coming home is usually a little of a let down after being away, I thought it was the perfect time to try out the gown.

I removed it from the box (that was way too big for the item) and found a very elegant gown wrapped in pink tissue paper. The gown was protected by being in a plastic bag. Removing it from the bag, the sheer material fell to the ground. I fell in love with the gown at first sight.

From top to bottom, the gown screamed of dainty, pure elegance. The summary on the site stated this was from the Sexy Bride collection but I found out that it can be worn by anyone, bride or not, and gets amazing results. The spaghetti straps are adjustable and attach to a bra style top. There are small strands of pearl like beads that attach to the spaghetti straps and show on the front side of the gown. The gown has a typical bra type back to it. The clasp in back has three, two eyed clasps, just like a regular bra. The front of the gown begins with underwire, lacy bra cups. The straps attach to the front with small eyelets with small flowers. The lace continues through the breast area and around to the back. A sheer material continues from the lace to the ground. There are four panels of sheerness, each split to the thigh area. At the top of each panel are tiny flowers which add to the elegant feature of the gown.

The thong that comes with the gown is made of the same lacy material and is a “one size fits most” size. It too has a small flower in the middle of the front part. It does have a movable hook in the back.

I ordered a size Large and was concerned about the fit. I am 5’7”, large bone structure, and have dense, heavy boobs. While the gown doesn’t provide the support I prefer, it does offer more support than most gowns. The length was perfect, ending just before reaching the gown.

The gown comes in white and the material is polyester. Polyester may be hand-washed in tepid water with the addition of gentle detergent. It can be ironed at low temperatures, stands up to abrasion and wears well. I have not washed it at this point but will include this in my follow-up review.

Although we would have rather still been away together, the evening home was much better when I walked through the house wearing this gown. My hubby’s eyes lit up and commented on how “pure” and innocent I looked. He also commented on how he thought it was going to be hard to remove the gown. He later found out that it wasn’t as hard as he thought and his old “unhooking the bra” came right back to him.

I still like this gown but did have a small problem. One of the straps that are from fishing line, broke. I didn't lose any of the beads and hubby was able to restring it and now it is good as new. Other than that, it has held up well.
