Sexy, In A Really Cheap And Trashy Kind Of Way

The idea behind these is really cute, but the execution is poor at best. The best way that I can describe the quality is to say that it reminds me of a quick homemade craft project, except poorer quality. Due to the poor quality, I would only recommend these to individuals seeking a one time use accessory, but even then these aren't going to be the best option.

That being said, my guy does think these are hot, but he's been known to overlook details.

extremely useful review
I am on a never-ending mission to find things that make me feel like a sex goddess. It was in my search for the perfect items that I came across these pasties. At first sight, I thought they might be just the thing. The little bows, the black pasties with the white fake pearls -- how elegantly sexy! What I got, instead, was something that made me feel a bit cheap and trashy. They do, however, look sexy from a distance.

All in all, these aren't my favorite pasties. My partner likes them enough that I'll keep them in my collection, but if anything were to happen to these? I wouldn't replace them, and I wouldn't miss them. And, well, if I ever need to weed through my collection? These will be the first things that go.

What's Included:
California Exotic Novelties "Playful in Pearls" pasties set includes the pasties, which are attached with a strand of fake pearls, and two strips of adhesive body-safe tape.

When to Wear:
These pasties are meant to be worn primarily to entice your lover (or whomever else you may be trying to seduce). They do cover your nipples, but the pearl strand makes it nearly impossible to wear them under clothing. It's okay that these can't really be worn under clothing, though. I mean, sometimes, it's nice to have something that's just for "sexy-time", right?

As soon as I received these in the mail, I put them on for my partner. He thought they looked very sexy, but he had difficulty resisting the urge to tug a little on the string. This may be because he and I play around with nipple clamps on chains a little too much, but that's not really important. What is important is that the pearl string on these pasties is not meant to be tugged upon. Even light tugging could potentially break the string, or cause the pasties to pull right off (with ease - as happened when my boyfriend gave the string a light tug).

So... as far as wearing them during sex goes? I wouldn't, but that's just because my partner and I tend to play a little rough. Even with really tame sex, I still feel like the string would get in the way.

How to Apply/Remove:
Okay, let me just say, I HATE the adhesive tape that comes with this set. It was a pain to put on, and although it was strong when sticking to my skin, it just did not stick very well to the back of the pasties. For this reason, I would recommend that you pick up your own body safe adhesive (eyelash adhesive works well).

If you do choose to stick with the adhesive tape that it's included, you simply peal off both sides of the strip, stick little pieces of it to the pasties, and then stick it on your nipple. Sounds simple, right? It's not! The tape sticks to EVERYTHING except what it's supposed to.

As for the removal? Simply peal them off. I found the removal to painless and quick, but you can expect for it to feel something like removing a bandage.

Material and Care:
The package states that the front side of the pasties is made out of polyester, whereas the backside is made out of 65% PVC and 35% polyester.

The material feels (and looks) very cheap. That said, it doesn't itch at all, and is comfortable against my skin.

The pearls appear to be strung on a clear Nylon string. The pearls, and the string, reminds me of something that you'd find in a little girls dress-up case (just without the pasties attached).

In regards to cleaning, well...you really shouldn't have to. If you do have to, you could use a toy wipe on them, but really? I wouldn't bother trying to clean them due to the extremely poor quality.
Experience
Design:
The design of these is sexy in theory, but it was very poorly executed.

The pasties themselves measure about 2.5" across the center. There is a small black bow that sits on the top of each pastie. The bow isn't overwhelming, and it would almost be cute if it were in a different color. As it is, the bow is easily overlooked due to the color of the pasties themselves.

The pasties are not designed to lay flat against your nipple. Instead, the center of the pasties is designed to go up into a point. The point falls right in the center of the pasties, and this is (of course) where the cord attaches. And speaking of cord attachment? It's very poorly done. I can clearly see where they knotted the cord a bunch of times in attempt to keep it secured. It does feel secure, but the fact that the knot is visible makes these look like someone's do-it-yourself craft project.

The string that connects the pasties measures 12". The cord is designed to sort of droop down in the middle.

Packaging:
The packaging is not discreet at all. It features a woman wearing the pasties on the front cover, so you're not going to want to open this with others around. Inside of the box, the pasties are found wrapped in a plastic baggy.

The packaging offers minimal information. There are no directions included. I wish there was some sort of directions included, as not everyone is familiar with how to wear pasties. I, myself, was slightly confused by the separate strips of adhesive tape (and I've worn pasties many times).

Quality:
The quality is extremely poor.

The current price on the product page is listed as $13.99, and honestly? I would've been really upset if I had paid $13.99 for these.

I noticed the following problems:
1. The knots are clearly visible, and this makes the product look cheap.
2. The string feels weak.
3. The adhesive tape does not stick well to the backs of the pasties.
4. The edges of the pasties were fraying right out of the package.

So...yes, these are low quality.

I'm going to rate them as 2, simply as my guy did find them sexy.
Follow-up commentary
These did not last long. They fell apart very quickly, and even when they were brand new, they looked cheap and tacky.

Great review. The pearls just seem useless if you can't pull on them or wear under clothes.
