Black moonlight magic gown - gown discontinued by Seven 'til Midnight - review by AHubbyof2SexualMinds

My wife and I had been searching for a long night gown for her to wear that is both comfortable and sexy. We've tried a couple that hadn't been very successful, but have found a winner in this case of Black Magic. A sheer, sexy piece, this has worked very well for us.

The gown is made by Seven 'til Midnight and arrives folded in a clear cellophane bag. There is a small product tag attached near the top of the gown, which has the product name, company name, a picture of a model wearing the garment and on the back of the tag includes care instructions. The G-string that comes with the gown is attached by a plastic tag to the gown as well. I didn't use the packaging for storage and wouldn't suggest that anyone attempt to store the gown in the cellophane packaging, that is unless you like cellophane crinkling in your lingerie drawer. This could be given as a gift, it is not very discreet in what you are giving, but at a bridal shower this wouldn't seem out of place.

The gown is made from 90% polyester and 10% spandex. We did detect some smell when my wife put this on. As she said "It smells a little like polyester, but it isn't too bad," and the smell either diminished with wear or we became used to it because it hasn't been a bother since she tried it on the first time. The smell is not overpowering at all, and most probably won't even notice it. I probably would not have noticed it unless my wife mentioned it, she has a very sensitive sense of smell.

The gown itself is very sheer and has a high slit in the middle of the front of the gown that goes all the way to the waist/crotch area. On the front of the bodice of the gown, specifically the breasts, stomach and chest of the gown there is a floral lace detail that is not as sheer as the rest of the gown. This is not a gown to wear in public for sure (but what nightgown is designed for that?) or to wear around the house if you have a toddler running around like we do.

We ordered a L in this gown, and my wife is about 5'6", 155 pounds and wears a size 10 dress and 36C bra. The fabric clung to her, but the stretch provided by the spandex allowed it to fall nicely around her figure. It was not overly tight or make her feel like the material wasn't flattering. Others have mentioned how long this gown was for them and how they tripped, but my wife did not have a problem with this at all. You can adjust the length of the straps on the gown, though we haven't actually had to as of yet. The straps are similar to most bra straps and you slide the adjustor to lengthen or shorten the straps like most bra straps as well.

This gown is very comfortable to wear. It is attractive and great to wear while being intimate, but it is also lightweight and comfortable enough to wear to sleep in. The G-string is comfortable enough to wear, but I wouldn't advise it to wear in public. The main problem my wife had with the G-string was that there were two long tags in the G-string (about 1 1/2" each) and were in the front of the G-string. It was irritating for my wife around her pubic bone and we cut those out after one wear. Those tags do include some care instructions so if you do remove them you might want to hold onto them like we did. We put them in a drawer with other tags from various pieces of lingerie with care instructions.

The stitching on this gown is not fantastic and after only one wear a saw a few loose threads appearing on the ends of the gown in places, 7 to be exact. The stitching is not consistent throughout, there is more space in between some stitches than the others, but overall the gown is made well and should hold up through repeated wearings. There is a very noticeable seam that runs down the sides of the gown, but my wife didn't notice it when she was wearing the gown. We usually don't like polyester, but this did not feel itchy or scratchy at all on my wife. She was actually really impressed with how comfortable she felt in the gown.

The care instructions for the gown are for you to hand wash it and allow it to line dry. I bet you could wash this in the washing machine on gentle cycle with cold water using a lingerie bag but we're okay with hand washing this.

For storage I would simply fold it and stash in a dresser drawer or lingerie drawer. You could also hang this in a closet if you choose to, but we have simply folded ours and put it in our lingerie drawer.

Experience

This is a gown that we have really enjoyed. I find it incredibly sexy on my wife and she says that she feels sexy in it as well. It is comfortable to wear, she has slept in it the three times we've worn it thus far. It is a quality garment and I really wanted to give this 5 out 5 stars. I knocked it down to 4 out of 5 stars because of the slight polyester smell, the tags in the G-string and the couple of loose stitches we have found. But I would recommend this to people without a doubt.

This gown has held up very well. It's sexy to look at and my wife definitely feels sexy in it. It is also comfortable to sleep in, we can't say enough good things about this gown, it is one of our favorites.
