Mesh santa chemise - costume discontinued by Coquette - review by minxx

Okay, I'll be honest - I was VERY nervous about this one. I've read reviews on holiday lingerie like this that talk about how it's "cheaply made" to the point that the little white feather trim is falling off, seams are tearing, details are just glued on, etc. Even though I wanted to for a long time, I have put off buying a holiday lingerie set in fear that I would end up with something that won't survive just being tried on!

When I found this lovely chemise on this site, it really tugged on my heart strings. I wanted to get it, but again, my fears creeped up on me and all I could think of was "What if it ends up being a waste of money?" After mulling it over for a bit, I threw caution to the wind, tossed it into the cart and bought it. I am happy to say, it was money well spent!

I do want to mention for the record that the hat and mini gloves shown in the picture are NOT included. (I saw a lot of comments on the product page asking about this, so I figured I may as well answer!) While the mesh material on the sides is a tad bit scratchy, the rest of the chemise is very smooth and comfortable, and the whole thing is made very well. The stitching on the black belt detailing on the sides, bow and garters are very secure, but the feather trim isn't as secure as I'd like. Don't get me wrong, it is not going anywhere, but i feel that if you weren't careful, you may easily pull the trim off. I have to admit, the garters are a bit on the stubby side compared to what I'm used to, which isn't necessarily a problem, though I could see this being annoying for some people. My only issue with this chemise is that the underwire in the bust can poke a bit. I never have any problems with underwires before, so this came to be a bit of a surprise. Also, I am really unsure of how to wash this. The instructions on the tag say to hand wash in cold water, but not to let the trim get wet.
