Sheer front chemise - chemise discontinued by Coquette - review by Lavendar

The Sheer Front Chemise by Coquette is a sexy little black and purple number that had been on my wishlist for awhile. I decided to add it to my last order since it is very reasonably priced. It arrived in a plastic bag on a plastic hanger with a safety pin attached Coquette tag. There is also no matching thong or G-string included.

The chemise is one layer of stretchy sheer material; it is very comfortable for long wear because of this stretchiness. It does not wrinkle. I usually keep mine on a hanger but if it is folded in a drawer it should not wrinkle either.

This chemise is a combination of lace, mesh, and satin. The entire chemise is mesh with a satin bra section and two lace strips going vertically down the front. It should not be machine washed or put in the dryer. Hand wash this garment in tepid water and hang up to air dry.

I ordered the small size and my chemise fits pretty well. I am 5'7" and a size 4-6. My measurements are as follows: Bust 34" Waist 27" Hips 36.5" The chemise goes down to about 8 inches from my hipbones in front and half way down my butt in the back. I do have a booty, so I found that the lace up back accentuates it well. It is also very flattering on my waist to hip ratio. The clingy fabric hugs curves nicely.

I wear a 34B bra and this is where I had a problem with the fit of this chemise. The bra section is lightly padded with no underwire or bra cups whatsoever. It provides no support and the top of the bra section almost has this fold that goes outward along the top. It is not flattering and ruins the look. I tried to put on a strapless bra underneath the chemise, but it only pushed the top of the bra section further away from my breasts.

In the photo the model's breasts seems slightly pushed up. Even in the side view photo the bustline lays flat along her breasts. In reality I don't think the bra part of this chemise will fit any bust size correctly. For larger busted women, your breasts will probably slip under the bra section for lack of a supportive underwire, and smaller breasted women like myself will have absolutely no cleavage in this chemise. If this piece had cups and underwire and was constructed like a normal push up bra this chemise would be a great deal.

The straps are adjustable in back like a regular bra. In the front they have a small decorative box and split into two straps, forming a triangle shape, right as they meet the top of the bra. After wearing this chemise a few times I have noticed the straps' fibers wearing a bit. I think a strap snap is imminent. The top construction of this garment is quite poor, but what can you expect for $24.99?

I enjoyed wearing this piece when I first got it, but the unsupported bra section really made me dislike this piece. There was no saving this chemise, I loved how it made my body look but the way it stuck up away from my breasts was unforgivable.
