Should be "Red Flimsy and Itchy Gown"
If you're looking for a slinky little gown to wear a few times you can find something much cheaper than this. This gown is 100% nylon and is very poorly constructed. The photographs of the product and price are misleading.Published: December 2, 2009
Pros:
Material is forgiving and sized closer to true size than most lingerie.
Cons:
Nylon satin, not silky satin. Cheaply made, itchy, expensive.
Experience
Even though I was so disappointed in the quality of the gown, my husband thought it looked sexy. I didn't like the itchy feeling of the material or that it clings like saran wrap because it's made of nylon. I'm going to see if washing it a few more times helps to soften the material and make it less itchy. I had planned to pack this gown and take it with me on our anniversary trip in February, but I probably won't now because of how cheap this thing looks.
There are some products that I would consider crap, but I still try to write objective reviews about them and consider their positive qualities. This item almost has no redeeming qualities. My biggest issues with this product are the price and the fact that what I received is not the product that is advertised. Satin can be crafted from several different materials (polyester, nylon, silk, etc.) so it's important to include this information in a product's description.

Follow-up commentary
7 months after original review
This thing is constantly winding up in the dirty clothes, despite the fact it never gets worn. I've washed it a few times and hung it to dry, and it still feels itchy and cheap. I'm still pretty disappointed with the look and feel of the gown and still wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If it was about $30 cheaper, perhaps, but at its current price it's just not worth the investment.

Thank you for viewing Red satin and lace gown review page!

I'm so sad that this wasn't what you expected, it looks gorgeous on the mannequin
Thanks. It sucks that there aren't a lot of reasonably priced options for plus size lingerie.
That does suck
Sorry to hear this was not what you had hoped it would be. Very nice review though!
That's too bad. This looks lovely on the mannequin :-(
Thanks. =)
I tried to like it, but at $50 there's no way I can endorse nylon satin. If it had been $20 my review wouldn't have been so negative.
How disappointing. I agree, I could get better at Victoria's Secret for LESS money than that. The "lace" is actually what disappoints me the most from your review; it's not even lace, it's mesh!
Great review, but very upsetting to read.
Thanks Sir.
I agree. The photographs are so misleading.
Great review. I can't believe how different it turned out to be.
Thanks! Me either Temptress.
That "lace" is hideous. Looks so cheap.
Was it supportive in the breasts, though? Hard to tell in the image cause you're holding them a bit but it looks like it could be.
The material isn't supportive at all. It's incredibly flimsy and thin. Considering that this has no real defined cups or underwire, and that it's a gown, I wouldn't expect it to have any support in the bust area though.
Oh no.
Great review, and I am disappointed at the difference in the actual product versus the pictures on the product page. Sorry this didn't work out for you
thanks for the great review!
good to know
nice review!
