Teddy and skirt set - teddy discontinued by Escante - review by deltalima

I received this teddy and skirt from Escante in medium. The packaging of this set was a simple plastic bag enclosing the set on a hanger. The teddy was hung on its bra straps but the skirt had two string loops attached to it and hung by those. The strings were a bit bothersome because it kept getting tangled on the hanger.

The colors of this set may seem unique but I feel it's rather dull. Described as a coral and nude set, I found that it was more of a red and cream color combination. There are also matching lace and trim accents and 2 bows on the center of the bra.

I'm 120 pounds and 5'4". I can usually fit a small but since I wasn't sure if that would be the most flattering for my stomach, I got this in medium instead. I'm glad I did that because even though my 32A size didn't fill out the bra cups, the middle section of the teddy didn't make my stomach look bad. If anything, it made me feel sexy about a place I'm really bothered about. I ordered a size up and thought the teddy might be really baggy. The only issue with bagginess that I had was the crotch area of the teddy. I'm not a fan of my crotch area looking like a deflated balloon so I'll be altering that. If you think you'll have an issue with the bagginess and don't want to alter it, I'd suggest going up a size to avoid that. I also found that the edges aren't that stretchy so they don't hug your skin. The bottom of the teddy is a panty bottom and there are no snap clasps.

Based on the item information, it says that the skirt is a mini skirt. I can understand why it would be considered a mini skirt because it is mini, measuring at 5 inches lengthwise.

Though the product description says that there are ruffles, it ends up looking flat on me. The skirt bottom is a band that measures the same all around and the lace pieces on the skirt are sewn down so there is no ruffle effect. I find that the skirt is rather pointless as it ends before the teddy does. I do like that the same lace detail on the bra is on the skirt.

The bra top has a hook and eye closure in the back as well as underwire support. Bra straps can be adjusted but are not removable. The cups are also lightly padded to give an extra boost in the support department. I feel that if I had gotten this in small, the bra would have been perfect for me. However, even though I didn't fill out the cups, I still felt I had enough support while wearing this.

Both pieces are made with 90% nylon and 10% elastane. Since elasticity is low in this set, don't expect it to stretch much if at all. As always, I'd suggest keeping this away from high heat and abrasive cleaning detergents. To clean the bra, it is recommended to hand wash in cold water whereas it is suggested to machine wash the skirt in warm water. If needed, iron on low temperatures and use non-chlorine bleach for either piece. It is also recommended to line dry it and avoid wringing or twisting the set.

When I received my very first piece from Escante, I was thrilled. Their craftmanship/quality, design and sizing were unlike others. As I have continued to purchase their lingerie pieces, my adoration of them has reduced. So while this set is made fairly well, I just didn't feel ecstatic having it. This in no way means that this teddy and skirt set isn't worth having; I just am not EXCITED about it.

An influx of new holiday lingerie has pushed this to the bottom of my pile but I still like it. I managed to get the matching slip dress (not available here) and I like that more.
