Lace top stockings with backseam - stockings discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by ~LaUr3n~

You can't beat the price for a comfortable, nice fitting, pretty topped lace pair of stockings which such a pop of color! They also have a backseam. While they are thin, if they are taken care of they will last longer than a few wears. They are best for taller women and surprisingly accommodate for thicker thighs than the traditional one-size fits all.

These also come in three other colors: black, white, and nude. But as you read there is a slight difference in construction too.

This set of stockings from Leg Avenue are solid sheer nylon. They have a closed tow and VERY pronounced backseam. This is different from the white ones that I own. Seriously this backseam sticks out further than any I own. The top has a thick 3" band of gorgeous lace with scallops and flowers. They can be worn with or without garters depending on how large your thighs are.

*Material:

These stockings are made of 100% nylon. This nylon is super soft! This makes them very comfortable to wear because they don't itch at all-not even the lace top. They stretch very well, but still hold shape and go back fairly well too.
Since they are thin they are also sheer and the skin can be seen through along with any tattoos or bruises.

*Design/craftsmanship:

This is where I got a bit confused. I did say that the backseam is very pronounced. Some might ask if i had them on inside out somehow. I checked and didn't. What is weird is that it kind of looks like the lace band is sewed on inside out. I don't really care because I love the look and so does my boyfriend! He actually chose these over red fishnets.

The top lace band does not have the inner "glue" that higher end stockings sometimes have. It is well constructed for the price and does hold up well if you are within a certain size. It also has a top scalloped edge that looks very pretty against the skin. The toes are not reinforced and are closed. They have the cross seam there too so this makes them best for closed toe heels.

You can use garters with these, but I would recommend not doing this because you could poke a hole through the lace since it is not very thick.

*Cleaning/care/storage:

these can run VERY easily. If you have rough skin on the bottom of your foot, it has the potential to put a run in these. You should wash them by hand and drip dry them. Never bleach these stockings. If you insist on putting them through the washer and or dryer, put them in a pillow case. Never put them in alone. When storing either fold them and put back in their plastic sleeve or fold them in on themselves like socks.

To show that they are not inside out, I flipped them so you could see that then the lace top's seam is protruding, which shouldn't be the case.

*Sizing/Application:

It takes a bit of practice to get these on correctly. I would go slow when pulling them up so that you can make the backseam as straight as possible. They also take a bit of positioning the lace so that it doesn't fold in on itself (less of a problem if you have skinny thighs).

The package says that they are one size fits most which is supposed to fit 90-160 pounds. Because of the lace being lose and stretchy, I think these are better suited for a range of 110-170 with a max thigh circumference of about 25". The lower end would likely need to use garters. If you are larger, the lace will probably roll and not lie flat against the skin.

These are also not great for petite women. I am 5'6" and my legs are about 31" long. I didn't struggle with pulling them up at all and they easily went all the way up to the top of my thigh. Since they also easily stretch to over 38", so they could be worn by women even taller than I am.

Conclusion:

These stockings get 5 stars. If they were more money, I'd probably lower the stars to 4 but for the price, these are great! I love that they accommodate my dancer thighs and are very comfortable. I also really like the uniquely prominent backseam whether or not it is an error.

I still like these and since they have held up, I also feel they are still worth the buy. I don't wear them as often as say my black ones, but that is because I don't have a whole lot of red lingerie or things that I would want to pair with red stockings.
