Dress and thong - mini dress discontinued by DreamGirl - review by ~LaUr3n~

OVERVIEW:

I was drawn to the neon colors of this dress and thought it would look great for a summer lingerie piece. It's so fun looking! It even provides enough coverage that you could wear it lounging around the house for your partner. I wasn't able to make it work with different bottoms yet, but I'm still trying! This piece doesn't fit the upper parts of its sizing chart, so it's not a really good OS piece, but it works for me!

CONTENTS: Two pieces

This is a two piece set from Dream Girl. The main piece is the tube mini dress with strapped back. The second is the matching thong. It comes in two colorful variations. The first has a main color of hot pink and the other is black. They both have the same multicolored strapped back. The mini-dress comes in OS (one size fits most).

MATERIALS: Stretchy, but the construction makes it scratchy.



The dress is made of 90% polyester and 10% spandex. It's a stretchy material that feels strong. It's not a cheap or thin feeling material. I did find a problem with the spandex straps in the back, however. There are a lot of little strings that tickle or scratch my back. Upon closer examination, I discovered that each strap is secured with a fine fishing wire type material. Annoying! The material is very clingy and won't hide ANYTHING. It's not see through, though.

DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION:

The dress is a tube style. It has a little bit of shape to it. It's 21" in length. The top measures 13 1/2" from arm pit to arm pit. Across the waist it is 12". The bottom hem is 15 1/2" across. The bottom hem is lime green for contrast from the front. The back has dozens of straps. There is a strap that goes from the very top all the way down to the bottom. It helps secure the straps that go across. Their colors alternate neon pink, yellow, orange, blue, and green. They are each about 3/8" thick. They are stretchier than a bra strap but feel very similar.

The thong is fairly typical. It's a g-string with strap sides. The front is 4 inches across the top. The thong is 5 3/4" long when the back in lined up with the front. The straps are 3/8" thick just like the straps of the back. The top of the thong has a lime green trim like the bottom of the dress. The weird thing about the thong is the way the straps are sewn. They don't connect to the pantie part like a normal panty. They are sewn from the top not the side. In the back this creates a "heart" look over the butt cheeks.

Care/Maintenance/Presentation:

The tag says to hand wash in cold water and then line dry. It came in a sealed plastic bag inside a nice cardboard box which makes a nice gift for your partner or for you to present before you wear the item for them. The cardboard box has windows on the sides showing the item inside and has pictures of the model wearing the item on the front and back. It also says that it glows in blacklight!

*Sizing/fit: Small for OS, fits like M/L, short

This comes in Os, so there was no choice for sizing. At the time it didn't come in black so I have the pink. I wish I had the black too! Based on the sizing chart given, this runs small. It fits more like M/L at most. It runs really short too. It shows my hoo-ha with only a few steps.

According to their sizing chart the OS should fit a size 2-14 dress, B-C chest, 32-38" band, 24-32" waist, 34-40" hip and 90-160 pounds. At the time of this review I am about 145 pounds, size 8 in most jeans, 8/9 in dresses, 36 D bra or DD (on occasion), 34.5" under bust, ~41" bust, 39" hip, and 30" waist. (Note my measurements have changed recently.)

The dress is very tight fitting but the straps don't dig in at all. It's tight on my bust and flattens it a bit, but it's not uncomfortable, nor does it hurt. If your breasts are larger than D/DD and/or not fake at that size, you'll have a hard time keeping this up, most likely. I had to pull it up every so often too. The middle and hips are fine for tightness on me. The tightest area is around my legs. It doesn't feel tight but I can tell that it's the smallest here because it flips the bottom hem up sometimes.

The dress is very stretchy and will stretch to fit larger sizes, but it will put strain on the straps and probably won't stay as flattering.

My Re-done chart/BEST fit: For large
Dress: 4-12 (12+ might find that the straps dig in)
Cup: B-D
Band: 31-38" (underneath your breasts) Any smaller than 31" this might slide down.
Waist: 27-34"
Hips: 35-42"
Height: Any taller than 5'4" this might show your lady bits (especially if you have larger than C breasts)

There are some major issues with this. For one the comfort. The scratchiness is annoying and as far as I can tell, it can be helped. The length is another. My boyfriend loves that it shows the tiniest peak of my lady bits, but it shouldn't. The thongs is also a bad design. It's just plain odd and seems pointless to wear with the dress. However, it is unique and fun. It also stretches pretty well. Because of all that it gets 3 1/3 stars.

After losing 15+ pounds and working out a lot, I love this even more! I'm starting to realize that it won't last a long time, though. Getting it on and off is making some strings start to break.
