Stretch Lace With Lace-Up Chemise (OS) Review

Dreamgirl had a great idea with this piece, but they made a few errors. Cheap material, and a poor length, ruined this for me. It's still comfortable enough that I'll keep it wear around on the very rare occasion, but it's not something that makes me feel sexy. Honestly, I can't imagine anyone feeling sexy in such cheap materials.

extremely useful review
When I saw that Eden Fantasy's had added a lot of new Dreamgirl items, I was immediately tempted to purchase each one. Unfortunately most of them ended up being large disappointments, as they all appear to best suited for petite girls. This one was slightly less disappointing than the others, but it's still a disappointment.

Basics:
This two piece set is made by Dreamgirl. The set includes a lace chemise, and a matching thong. It is available in three different color combinations; black and lime, turquoise and black, and iris and black. I purchased the black and lime set.

Material and Care:
I really wish that I could tell you what this item was made out of, but I can't really say for certain. This is because there was no tag on either of the pieces, and the packaging does not stay anything about the material. The product page does state that this is made out of Nylon and Spandex, but there's no way of knowing what percentage of each is in this.

The material consists of lace, which features of a floral pattern. The lace is soft, and it doesn't make me itch at all. It also feels incredibly cheap. I feel like the lace will fray very quickly.

The pattern on the lace is also not as clear in person as it is in the stock photograph. It just looks a bit sloppy in person. The lace is also see through, so keep that in mind.

The material has some stretch to it, but there's always a limit to that stretch.

The green ribbon on the chemise is very shiny. In my opinion, it looks and feels cheap. Like the rest of the chemise, I believe it will fall apart quickly.

To care for this item, I would recommend hand washing it and then allowing it to line dry.

Sizing:
This is only available in one size fits most -- and it certainly won't fit most!

According to the size chart, one size fits most should fit the following measurements:
Cups: B-C
Bust: 32-38"
Waist: 24-32"
Hips: 34-40"

I have large C/small D breasts, and a 32" waist. My hips are 40".

This set does fit me okay, but I'd be surprised if this would fit anyone larger. Truthfully, I feel like I'm pushing the size limit.

When you first take this out of the package, it looks extremely small. I thought that it was child-sized when I first saw it -- thankfully I discovered that it stretches to fit adult bodies.

One thing to keep in mind with this item is that it's very short. With a little effort, I am able to pull this down so it covers part of my bum, but it does tend to ride up after just a few minutes. It's really more of a camisole than a chemise. For reference, I am 5'6", so maybe this would be best suited to shorter individuals.

As for the thong? It was very snug on me. I don't imagine that the thong would fit anybody comfortably. The thong measures 13" unstretched, and 20" stretched, across the waistband. The triangle on the thong measures 4.5" across the top, and 6" up each side.

Design:
The design of this chemise is fairly simple. There is no closure for this chemise; you simply slip it on over your head, and you're done.

Most of the chemise consists of a black floral lace. The center front of the chemise is open, with little scalloped edges going down the center. A light green ribbon is woven through some of those edges, in a sort of a crisscross pattern. The ribbon holds the chemise together, but it also enables you to open it up more, should you need more room. The ribbon is supposed to tie in a bow at the top.

The idea with the ribbon is good, but I find that it just looks a bit sloppy. This is likely because of the poor quality of the materials.

The straps on the chemise are not removable, but they are adjustable, so you can choose the strap length that works for you.

Oh, and as for bust support? This chemise will not offer you any! That's because there's no underwire, no padding, no underbust seams...Nothing! Your girls are on their own in this baby.

The included thong features a lace pattern that matches the chemise. The thong does have a pantyliner that is open at one end. I'm not sure what the pantyliner is made out of, but it doesn't feel like cotton to me.

Quality:
For $16.99, the quality is okay, but it's still disappointing. I just don't believe that this piece will last due to how cheap it feels. Time will tell.
Follow-up commentary
I keep pulling this out, saying I'll wear it... but the truth is, I just don't think it's very sexy. It's a real shame, because this could've been a great item. The materials are just terrible, and it looks cheap and trashy. Don't get me wrong, "cheap and trashy" can be sexy (in fact, my boyfriend would tell you that he loves the cheap and trashy look)... but this piece? It's just a disaster.
