Suck it in sister!

Over all I would suggest this outfit for women who are a little smaller. If you have curves that you don't mind showing then it's fine but if, like me, you are hoping for something to hide your unwanted curvy areas, this is not for you.

Pros:
Beautiful design and fabric, reversible so you don't get bored with it.
Cons:
Not made for women that have curves below their breast, doesn't do much to hide them.

somewhat useful review
The Reversible satin corset with ruffle accents by Dreamgirl is very gorgeous to look at and the wonderful silk fabric feels amazing against your skin but as far as corsets go... it leaves a girl wishing for the days that it took two people, a lot of pulling, and the occasional foot on the bum to pull the strings nice and snug! I am definitely not a size 0 or even a size 7 so I was hoping for something nice and snug to help me tuck away some unsightly left over child bearing weight. The corset looks beautiful no matter which direction you wear it but if like me your hips are as big as your bust it can be a bit uncomfortable. I finally found a corset that fits my breast but by the time I fastened the way to many hook and eye fasteners on the back it was a bit more than snug around the hip/midsection. The thigh highs are very nice and the overall look of the outfit was not displeasing.

It was a bit difficult to get into, though I quickly figured out the trick of turning it around backwards while I snapped 3/4 of the way down sliding it around and attempting to correctly hook the last few fasteners. Once I got the technique down it all became much easier. If you are looking for something that is quick to get in and out of I would opt for something a little simpler this one will certainly take a few moments to accomplish either option.

The mesh backing of the outfit was nice for a little stretch room if that is whet you are interested in but it does not keep things from showing if you are trying not to show off areas. If you are smaller it would probable fit you more like the picture but I just was unable to pull off the look that well. I was not unsatisfied with this outfit just a little disappointed.
Follow-up commentary
This is still one of my favorite pieces though I still wish it was a little more "bodice" like in the way it fits around the stomach area :)

I definitely want to get an outfit like this at some point. It doesn't look like a real corset, but it still looks pretty gorgeous.

Is there a wire inside to keep it rigid? Had you had any similar lingerie to compare comfort?

it is really cute thats for sure but there is very little wire in the front of the outfit. There is a few pieces of boning that run up the main two lines of the outfit but nothing in the way of cup support really

  • Corset sizing?
    • I'm kinda lost as to how the sizing works for this stuff. Is the "size" the bust measurement or the band measurement? I also read that it runs large so it's even more confusing.

link is a handy resource to use but each corset is different some are bigger then others. The general rule like it said is to slightly downgrade in size which should push everything up. My other bit of advice is to get a corset elsewhere. Frankly they're better made
    • I've bought corsets here one size down and they barely fit. I've bought some elsewhere that were my bust size and they were huge! There are so many discrepancies with sizing between manufacturers that you may want to consider buying two different sizes of the same one (if available) and returning the one that doesn't fit. I've tried Frederick's of Hollywood ones in the store and didn't like any of theirs..besides, they had very little in 38 and tons of 32 and 34 in stock.
