Swirl jacquard teddy set - teddy and stockings set discontinued by Leg Avenue - review by LambChop

Note: This review is very similar to my review of the Sheer Criss Cross Teddy set because it is essentially the same product, different design.

The Leg Avenue Swirl Jacquard Teddy set (really a sleeveless, legless, high-necked body stocking) is a very versatile sexy 3-piece set that can be worn for sexy time, or even under clothes for a sexy daytime look. The set consists of a sleeveless sheer body suit and a pair of matching thigh highs. Both the stockings and the body suit sport a gorgeous swirly curlycue pattern. On the body suit, the pattern swirls down the center of the bodice, front and back. The pattern seems to be the same on both sides, and there is nothing to indicate front or back. This design would be really pretty peeking out from under a sweater or jacket. The edges of the arm and leg holes are scalloped and are constructed of thicker hosiery material, as is the neckline: same fabric, but thicker-knit areas. The legs are cut high on the hip, like french-cut bikini panties, and will leave your butt exposed. This is not quite a thong, but definitely not full-coverage, either.

The fabric is sheer black nylon, similar to sheer pantyhose. As such, it is very delicate and will run or snag easily. The care instructions on the package are to hand wash and drip dry. This is a very delicate garment, and although I might wash this on delicate in a garment bag, I have to agree for once that hand washing is probably best.

Packaging is standard hosiery packaging: a flat cardboard package with the hosiery wrapped flat inside around a cardboard insert. The Leg Avenue pink and black packaging looks great, and is fairly discreet, with a photo of the front of the outfit on the front, and the back of the outfit on the back.

This piece looks MINISCULE when it comes out of the package. Seriously, before stretching, it is about the size of a washcloth. It is sized as “one size fits all” but this will probably not fit plus size ladies. It does easily stretch to fit (think pantyhose, before and after), but it does not stretch indefinitely. The neckline is a standard crew neck style, like a t-shirt, but a little higher. It's not quite high enough to be called a mock turtleneck, though. (The product description page has several photos that accurately show the design.) This was form-fitting garment, but not tight. For reference, I normally wear a small-to-medium, or size 6-8 and this fit very well. The crotch closes with two snaps like a standard bodysuit.

The stockings are very sexy, with a matching swirly pattern. The 1” wide elastic band at the top is rather tight, and I felt they created too much of a muffin top to wear with the body suit. I fully intend to wear them with a dress or skirt, though. The stockings could be worn with garters, but they are not necessary, as the elastic is strong. Some reviewers have felt that the stockings are flimsy or not well made. I didn't have that problem, but do feel that they are VERY TIGHT at the top band...too tight.

I still like this teddy and the hose. They've not gotten much use, but this set is still gorgeous and affordable.
