Showgirl - sexy costume by Cal Exotics - review by Breas

When I had first seen the Showgirl Panty and Pasties Set by Cal Exotics, I was intrigued. While I had never worn pointy nipple pasties before, I just loved the sparking sequins so much that I figured it was worth a try. With a price tag of only $11.99, I figured that even if it turns out to not really be my style, I didn’t have to break the bank. The set is available in one-size-fits-most, and available in the colours red, pink, black, and silver. I purchased the pink coloured set.

The set arrived in a rectangular cardboard box. The front of the box states the product name, company name, and has a photo of a model wearing the set. The back of the packaging has the same information as the front, but with a back view of the model wearing the set. The packaging is not discreet, and while it could be used for storage, I think there are better options. The box is quite large considering how small the contents are. I keep my set in my underwear drawer. Below you can see a photo of the front and back of the packaging.



Inside of the box, the pasties and panty are packaged in separate clear, plastic bags. These bags are also not good for storage. Also in the box you’ll find a tiny bag that has 8 extra double-sided tape stickers that you can use with the pasties.

G-String
Adjustable waistband, largest fit: 19 inches
Adjustable waistband, largest fit, stretched as much as I could: 30 inches
Widest area of material that covers your front area: 5 ¾ inches
Length of material before bum string: 8 inches
Length of bum string (unstretched): just under 13 inches

Pasties
Length: 2 ¼ inches

The product page states that the set is nylon, though there is no material composition information stated on the box or the company’s website. The inside of the g-string has a very silky feeling, and the waistband and string are elastic. The clips on the g-string to adjust the size are plastic.

The reason why I did not put the smallest size for the g-string is because the way it adjusts is really odd. After a certain point, adjusting the strap to make it smaller makes the string off centred. When I had measured the waistband at the smallest size (where the string was still centred), it was 14 inches unstretched. This can be made smaller, a lot smaller actually, though the string that goes down your butt may be a bit off centred the smaller you need to make it. You can see a photo of the g-string, as well as the adjustable clips below.





Another thing you may have noticed that I added in the measurements is the length of the material of the front area on the g-string, as well as the length of the bum string. Typically I don’t add this information but I thought it was important to note because it’s ridiculously long. The bum string is not adjustable like the waistband is, so you’re stuck with a very long g-string. If you notice the photo of the back of the packaging that I had posted above, you can see that the model has the g-string hiked half way up her back; this is because of its length.

The g-string is poorly made, and you should not expect to get more than a couple uses out of it. I had tried the g-string on for the second time, and the strap detached from the material. I didn’t really like how long the g-string was anyway, so I’m not terribly disappointed that I can’t wear them again.

The pasties did not fit perfectly on my chest (I wear a size C), but it wasn’t terrible. I would not suggest these pasties to anyone with a larger chest than mine. The pasties seem to be made for a smaller sized chest, or thinner boobs.

The pasties have two square pieces of double-sided tape on each of them to hold the pasties to the chest. As I had mentioned previously, the set comes with 8 extra squares. I was surprised that the double-sided tape holds the pasties quite well. Since my chest is a bit large for these, the tape doesn’t hold as long on me, but it still held on for quite some time (an hour or so). This tape is available in large sheets at the dollar store (I’ve purchased them before for crafting).

There are no care instructions for the g-string, so I would suggest hand washing and line drying the piece. The g-string is quite fragile and could possibly damage in the washing or drying machine.

I’ve decided to give this set a 3 out of 5 because while the g-string was garbage, the pasties have potential. While the pasties don’t fit me perfectly, my partner loves them on me. I also like that the set comes with extra squares of double sided tape for future wear. I wouldn’t recommend buying this set for the g-string, but the pasties are worth the price.

Let me explain... what I "still don't like" is the rediculous g-string that came with the outfit. Since my review, it's been thrown in the garbage. I still like the pasties, though they aren't my favourite ones out of all the pasties I own. It's an "okay" product in the end.
