Lycra gathered dress - dress discontinued by Coquette - review by bluekaren

I got this Lycra Gathered Dress for review from Eden and I have to tell you how much I love it! I thought the sizing was very true to fit. I ordered a large. I am actually a medium but I had another Croquette item that was almost too small in medium. This time I should have ordered the medium though. It fit great everywhere... except in the bust. Coquette is generous in the bust size and I just didn't have enough to fill out this top. This is my fault entirely for not paying closer attention to the bust size on the dress. Thankfully, the straps at the top are adjustable and I could still wear this. It would have looked even better if I would have the bust to fill the top better. I am only a "B" cup so a large was just too much for me. The dress fit great everywhere else and I loved the way it looked.

I got this dress to wear out to a club and it fit right in. I liked how it showed off my shoulders while hiding my trouble spots. It fit very well and didn't have that "new" funky clothes smell out of the package. The dress came with a black satin hanger which was a straight design, it had little pins to keep the dress on the hanger. I think this was very thoughtful, since this dress doesn't quite have the same appeal balled up on the floor when I am trying to find something to wear out.

The way the dress is gathered, it is very good at hiding what I perceive to be my trouble spots. It covered my belly and hips and made them look slimmer. It really does flatter any figure. It is a thin material and I have to admit it was not as "gathered" on me, other than that I am happy with the way this fits. It did stretch very easily over my curves. Unfortunately, it also showed awful panty lines since it was so stretched. This dress is made of 80% nylon and 20% spandex. It is about the thickness and feel of a bathing suit material. It is totally opaque and not sheer at all. The material has a nice shine to it.

The top is a beautiful flowery pattern that shines in the light. This dress is hand wash only due to the fragility of the bust decoration.



Okay, you can see my belly pouch in this pic, but a little adjusting of the materials and it disappears, I swear.



Somehow in the world of lingerie I am a large, except in the bust of course. I like the way this dress fits, and I loved the way it felt on. The only problem I had (other than panty lines), was that it rode up when I danced. I hate that really but most dresses do that to me. I have only found a few that don't. Walking around this dress stayed down for the most part and didn't have any itchy spots.
