Time to Get "Wet"!

If the look of latex or leather appeals to you, but the cost of either is just too exorbitant, then "wet look" apparel is a great and affordable alternative. Don't be fooled by how tight it looks, because it won't feel that way at all if you select the right size.

extremely useful review
Coquette has done it again with another gorgeous addition to its line of "Darque" wet look apparel! This tight-fitting dress will accentuate curves and will hopefully make a few mouths water too. With or without hosiery (underwear always optional *wink*), this dress will look HOT with a pair of sexy heels. If fetishwear is your niche, this is one dress that will compliment your wardrobe with a touch of class and enough coverage to wear it out in public.

Materials
The care tag is located in the neck collar and indicates that it is "Made in China" out of 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex. The square black grommets on the neck are made of plastic. The outer, visible side of the fabric has the illusion of being "wet" as it can look shiny at times, almost rubber or latex-like. The inside is less slick-feeling, but nevertheless soft and not itchy at all against the skin. It should only be hand-washed in cold water and hung to dry.

Design elements
This dress is so sexy, almost to the point of making the wearer feel like a badass hottie, if that's the effect you want to have. When wearing this, I feel like one of the babes in Robert Palmer's "Simply Irrestible" music video. It's sleeveless and very form-fitting, but much lighter and cooler to wear than latex, pvc, rubber, or leather.

The neck collar is made up of 8 rows of square, plastic grommets that are pyramid shaped, but flatter than a traditional pyramind, to give the dress and edgy, rocker look by catching the light and sparkling a bit. The choker-style collar measures just about 3-inches wide and is reinforced on the backside with an extra layer of fabric. My neck is 14.5 inches around, the neck on the dress is 16.5 inches, so it wasn't too tight on me. Just keep in mind that the collar/neck does not stretch at all, so if your neck is pushing 16 inches, it's going to be too snug and may not zip up all the way.

As with other Coquette pieces, it's obvious this is a quality piece, with even stitches, no loose threads, reinforcements where necessary, and a quality zipper that starts from the lower back up just above the buttocks and goes all the way to the neck.

Sizing
Coquette's sizing is usually spot-on, and this dress is no exception. It's only available in the color black and comes in S, M, or L. I ordered the Large solely based on my bust size, a 38C/D, and the other measurements fell right in line with my proportions. I also own a top, skirt, and shorts from the "Darque" collection, and save for the top in a Large, I can wear the Medium in the shorts and the skirt because this material is quite stretchy.

Length: Being that I'm almost 5'8" tall and I have huge boobs that use quite a bit of the material, the dress just covers my bottom, but not so little that I would never risk wearing it to an appropriate venue.

Overall, this is another well-made, durable piece from Coquette, a maker of classy, quality lingerie that caters to true-sizing of American Women. I love that it's reasonable priced too! Lastly, it's best to step in to the dress rather than pull it over the head.
Experience
I love everything in the "Darque" Collection, although I think it would be awesome of they made more in other colors such as Red, Hot Pink, White, and Blue. But you can't go wrong with black, ever! The only con about this dress is that it's very difficult to zip it up by oneself, but not impossible.
Follow-up commentary
Coquette makes some of the BEST wet look apparel I've tried, not to mention their sizing is usually generous and spot-on for Western women. The only thing that I don't like about this dress is the back zipper, which can be hard to do on your own.
