Victorian Dreams or Modern Fantasy?

Victorian Dreams Corset is very beautiful, being a brilliant dark blue with a black floral lace overlay. For formal or casual outings or private evenings at home, this corset will not disappoint you or your partner! It is well made, comfortable and very classy with a few unique touches to the design. I am looking forward to wearing this to some of the more formal business events this holiday season!

extremely useful review
Victorian Dreams corset arrived packaged in a see through garment bag. It is on a basic, black, plastic hanger, unfortunately not the usual padded, satin hanger that Coquette usually provides. The first thing I noticed after removing the bag was the beautiful deep, clear, blue satin that is overlaid with a beautiful and feminine black lace.

The design is elegant and flattering, but the corset is made for shorter torsos. There are three pieces of boning running up the front of the corset. One under each breast and then one in the center, running from sternum to the navel. There is one boning per side under the arms, and another one per side on the back. There is no boning in the hook and eye closure. There are two fake boning accents, but they have no supportive boning inside them. These run from the hip to the side boning in an arch shape.

The bust area is lightly padded but has no under wire. This is both a blessing and a curse. The lack of under wire makes the cups a bit more adaptable for different sizes and shapes, but it also lacks some support for larger breasts. I had to wear the shoulder straps to make the corset fit correctly on the breast area, I am a D cup and need the extra support. The top of the cups are lined with a soft, black nylon that is semi-shiny, but not tacky. There is a large blue satin bow centered in between the cups. This is a pin and is easily removable. I use this bow on my white corsets to add some color as well as wearing it with this one occasionally.

The back of the corset is the same black semi-shiny material that is used to line the cups. There is a hook and eye section that can be a bit tricky to get fastened. I start the hooks, do them up on my side and wiggle the corset into place. It is not exactly easy, but it does work if you have no other help.

The corset is very well made, no loose threads or mismatched seams. The material is soft on your skin, but the lace overlay is delicate. I can see this snagging at some point in the future--hopefully not, but the potential is still there. With the material being 80% Nylon 20% Spandex, hand washing in warm water and line drying is the only way to clean the Victorian Dream. I definitely would not chance a washer on the delicate lace material. Do not iron--and I have not noticed any need, this does not wrinkle when cared for properly. Remember, do not ever twist or wring the corsets out prior to hanging.

I hang and store the corsets with the back fastener over a regular plastic hanger. This allows for more room when storing and also does not distort the material the way a regular hanger can when hung vertically but those annoying little straps. The Victorian Dream goes on the hanger with the middle of the busts up, and draped over the hanger rod. I do not hook the back.

The corset fit nicely, I did have them on the farthest hooks out. The bust was a bit snug, but not indecently or uncomfortable so, but would not recommend this for those that may be larger busted than a 42D.

I am looking forward to wearing this during the holidays with a lace shrug I purchased at a bridal store. Victorian Dreams can be worn out to a club or for a private night in, it will go with a skirt or jeans and is appropriate for more formal events.

Follow-up commentary
One of my favorite corsets, the Victorian Dreams has received its fair share of compliments every time I have worn it out in public. I have a black lace shrug that matches the lace on it perfectly and looks very elegant.

I am looking forward to wearing this more as the holiday season gather steam and there are more social functions. It has held up very well and still looks new after 6 washings.
