Wetlook corset with padded cups - corset discontinued by Coquette - review by Breas

The Wet Look Corset with Padded Cups by Coquette is available in sizes S-1X/2X. I had purchased the size XL. The corset is on a plastic hanger and is surrounded with plastic when it arrives. The clear plastic bag that covers the corset does not have any photos or text on it. There is a cardboard tag attached to the corset stating the company name, website, product name, size, and colour. There are also a few photos of a model wearing the piece. The hanger is good to use to store the corset when it’s not being worn.

The corset is 100% polyurethane, exclusive of trim. It is all black in colour with silver metal hook and eye closures down the centre front. The material does not have any stretch to it and it is not sheer. You’re able to adjust the width with the lacing down the centre back of the piece.



I’ve taken measurements of the corset laying flat and the lacings down the centre back done up the way it had arrived. There was no gap between the lacing when I had taken the measurements, meaning the tightest fit. If you need any additional measurements, please send me a message and I’ll get them for you.

The 2 closures to the corset are the hook and eye closures down the centre front and the lacing down the centre back. There are 17 hook and eye closures down the centre front. There is no modesty panel beneath the hook and eye closures so approximately ¼ of an inch of skin will be exposed through this area. There is also no modesty panel beneath the lacing down the centre back so the more you need to add width (by loosening the lacing), the more skin will be exposed.



The corset has 8 plastic boning pieces to it. There are 4 boning pieces down the front, 2 down the back, and 1 on each side. There are 2 shoulder straps and 4 garter straps to the corset. All of the straps are both adjustable in length and detachable. Both garter and shoulder straps are stretchy. The loops to attach all straps are on the inside of the corset so it doesn’t look odd if you choose not to wear them. I actually don’t get much use out of garter straps since I wear a lot of my corsets out in public.

The cups have a very thin layer of padding in them but no underwire. You don’t need to wear a bra with the corset if you’re concerned about nipple outline because the padding covers this. The string that laces down the centre back looks like a thin, cheap shoestring. It is quite lengthy though, which is nice for those who need to add that width to the corset. The strings tie at the very top when you receive the corset. Depending on how you like the lacings done up, you may want to change this. The string isn’t very attractive. You could always replace the string with a black ribbon.

Putting on a corset is easier if you have someone to tighten the lacing down the centre back for you but it is manageable by yourself. When my partner isn’t around to help me, I just undo the hook and eye closures down the centre front, and loosen the lacing down the centre back just a bit. Then I’ll hold the corset up to my body and see if I’m able to do the hook and eye closures up yet. If I can’t, I’ll loosen the lacing a bit more and repeat this process until I’m able to do the front of the piece up. That’s what I did with this corset.

I’m 5’6 in height, wear a C cup, have 41 inch hips, and I weigh in the high 160’s. This corset fit my beautifully… except for the cups. The XL is much more suitable for a D cup. My C’s had a lot of room to move around. The length of the corset is perfect for me. Some people may not like the length of the corset but it works well for me because I wear pieces like this out and need my belly and hips covered. The length makes this corset a great choice for those with longer torsos.

I only needed to loosen the lacing down the centre back to where there was approximately a 2 inch gap. The shoestring lace is so ridiculously long though that there was 47 ½ inches of length left over after I had tied the lacing to where I needed it. As I mentioned earlier, you can replace the lace if you find it too long. I can’t see anyone finding it too short.

I found the corset to be comfortable and did not experience any skin irritation while wearing it. The care tag states the hand wash the corset and I assume to line dry. The nice thing about the material is that if you get any liquid on it, you can easily just wipe it off with a damp cloth.

Overall, I’m very happy with the corset. I feel very bad ass and dominant in it. My partner really loves it too! The only thing that really bothered me was that the cups are so darn large for my C’s. I had deducted one star from the rating because there is no modesty panel down the centre front of the corset and the fact that the padding is extremely thin.
