Fetish femme black bra and skirt set - bra and skirt set discontinued by DreamGirl - review by Alan & Michele

The Fetish Femme bra & skirt set by DreamGirl includes a bikini top, g-string, mini skirt, and a satin ribbon choker.

The top has stretchy spaghetti straps at the neck and a wide satin ribbon around the chest, both of which can be tied to fit different sizes. There's also black elastic along both sides of the cups, just like a regular bikini top, so it stays closed around the breasts. The silver buckle between the breasts is more for show than anything, because it only adjusts about an inch, which isn't necessary since the chest strap ties. The same is true of the choker, which also ties behind the neck.

The skirt has two rows of satin ribbon, each which end in short leather straps with buckles to fasten in the back. It's not very adjustable at all, so sizing may be an issue for some people.

MATERIAL:
With the exception of the choker, everything is made of 100% polyester chiffon. It's lightweight and sheer, leaving very little to the imagination. There's no stretch at all to the fabric itself, so only the top is forgiving size-wise (because of its elastic).

The metal buckles all work on small thin straps of black leather. The leather feels pretty flimsy though, so it probably wouldn't be a good idea to tug on them too much.

WORKMANSHIP/DESIGN:
The Fetish Femme set is well made overall, with all edges being serger sewn and very few stray threads. "Stray" not "loose," so you can safely clip what few there are without damaging any of the pieces. The design could have been better thought-out though. For some reason, they placed the skirt's tags center front, and they're really visible through the fabric. There's no reason they couldn't have been placed in the back next to a buckle.

There are twin loops of thin satin on the top and the skirt that you can use to hang the garments on a hanger, but that's where I found another design flaw. The skirt's hangers are about 3" long, which is a normal useful size, but the top's are 9" long and sewn on the lower outer corners of the cups. It's a ridiculous addition, because it's impossible to tuck 9" of looping behind sheer material and have it not show, and there's no reason you can't hang the top by its neck or chest straps anyway. I wound up cutting them off.

SIZING:
The sizing on this set seemed mismatched to me. I ordered size Small, which is supposed to fit a bust measurement of 32-34" with an A or B cup, waist of 24-26" and hip sizes 34-36. I'm currently a 32A bust, 24" waist, and 34" hip, which is well within those ranges and should have fit fine.

For the top, that's partially true. It did fit but there was some extra fabric that I had to press down to pool underneath the breasts. It would definitely look good on a B-cup lady, and would probably work on up to a 36C because of how adjustable the straps make it and how wide the cups are. You'd just have a narrower amount covered on a C-cup.

The G-string was small. It was super narrow in the crotch and didn't go up as high on the hips as most G-strings do, so I can't imagine anyone larger than myself being comfortable in it.

The skirt, on the other hand, was too big. The buckle straps in the back are very short, with only about 1" of room for adjustment, and even fastened on the smallest hole it was loose enough that it just slid down to the floor. There's no elastic anywhere, and I'd guess that the true size range for hips is actually 35" to 37".

My advice is, pay very close attention to hip/waist size when ordering, and order down a size if you're at the low end of the waist measurements listed. If you're very small, be prepared to do some pinning or sewing.

CARE:
The manufacturer suggests washing this set by hand, and then hanging it up to dry. I've washed in several times in my washing machine inside of a pillowcase and had no problems with it though.

Thank goodness for sewing machines. I wound up overlapping a vertical section of the skirt back (next to the buckles) and sewing it with a straight seam to get it to fit. The G-string I replaced, because I just can't get into the painful vag lip wedgie sensation. The top I couldn't alter without completely disassembling the cup, because I figured out that it was actually gathered along the bottom seam to bow out for larger breasts. Too much hassle to mess with that, so I'll live with the extra fabric at the bottom.

After all of that, it *is* a very cute set that's comfortable to wear. But I'm not impressed with having to re-sew things that are supposedly my size. Not to mention having 2 of the 4 items in a set be too big but one be too small.

I like it. It's "rougher" looking than most lingerie that she wears, so the change was a nice surprise. It wasn't hard to get off of her either, but I did worry about breaking the buckles.
