Bow mesh cami with g-string - sexy lingerie by Coquette - review by Coralbell

Design and Construction:

The cami is made of soft, red mesh with a bit of stretch. It is sheer enough to show the straps of the g-string, but not my areolas. The bow pattern is flocked, so the print has a velvety feeling and is slightly raised. The 3 strips down the center of the cami are velvet and I think they have a slimming and shaping visual effect, but there is no boning beneath them. The velvet strips are backed with elastic and can bunch up a little, which is probably why the model is shown pulling on the bottom of the cami. There is a seam under the bust, but no underwire, so the cups won't provide a lot of support. The ruffles along the cups and around the bottom are made of gathered black mesh, which is also very soft. The bottom ruffles dip upwards in the middle, showing a sexy triangle of skin above the top of the g-string. The bows are satin and are firmly attached. I don't really like the small bows on the straps, but because the mesh ruffles, edging around the armholes, and shoulder straps all join beneath them I probably won't take the risk of removing them in case I ruin the cami. The shoulder straps are also velvety, and have plastic sliders to adjust the length like a normal bra strap does. The straps are stretchy and have lots of room to adjust, so they should work for just about anyone.

The g-string is made from the same red mesh as the cami, and the edging and straps are a stretchy, satiny material. It has a y-shaped back and there is no liner in the crotch. There is a small white tag in the front which shows through the mesh, so I plan to remove it.

Fit:

According to Coquette's size chart, their One Size items should fit a size 4-14, B cup, with a 34-40 inch bust, 26-32 inch waist, and 36-42 inch hips.

In reality, the cami is more like a Small/Medium. I'm a size 6/8, 34 B, with a 28 inch waist, and 38 inch hips. The cami hugs my body but isn't too tight. I'm 5'4" and the bottom of the cami hits me around the same place as it does on the model in the pictures.

Usually when I purchase a small or medium Coquette set, the g-strings are a little small on me. They usually have enough width, but are very low-rise, and don't come up above my butt crack without having to give myself a bit of a wedgie. The g-string included with this set actually fits me well, and has enough length to cover my crotch and butt comfortably. The straps aren't too loose on me, but would easily stretch to fit someone with 42 inch hips. It is probably the same size that usually comes with a large set.

I am being fairly generous with my recommendations; if you are on the larger end of these measurements it will fit your body snuggly.

Comfort:

Since there is no underwire or boning, and the material is soft with some stretch, this set is very comfortable. I like how the trim is also made from soft mesh, instead of scratchy lace like some lingerie. The straps are stretchy and very adjustable, so they should work for almost anyone without digging in or sliding off. None of the seams irritate my skin. The g-string doesn't dig into my hips or give me a wedgie. I could easily sleep in the cami, although I wouldn't really want to sleep in this, or any other, g-string.

Care:

The material is 82% nylon and 18% spandex. The tag says to hand wash. I have washed this set in my washing machine on the delicate cycle and it came out fine. I have a front loading washer and since there's no agitator I trust it not to ruin most of my lingerie. You can also purchase a mesh lingerie bag or just use a pillowcase to provide extra protection in the washing machine. I wouldn't risk putting it in the dryer in case it shrank or melted. Mesh air dries quickly on it's own anyways.
