Flirting with desire robe and thong - bed jacket discontinued by DreamGirl - review by teachmetouchme

This short, black satin robe by DreamGirl has dropped, wide sleeves trimmed in lace. It is a kimono stlye, with no collar and the lapel trim is the same black satin. Down the center back is a double top stitched seam. The lace is very pretty and soft. I liked the way it looked on the hanger and the way it looked on me.

The sleeves are dropped, as they are in kimono robes, to about 7" below my shoulder; sleeve width is a straight 10" across (giving it a usablewidth of 20" allowing it to comfortably fit women with heavy and/or muscular arms) and a length of 12." with an additional 5" from the lace. Across the back, from underarm to underarm it measures 20" with two 13" front panels giving you a useable space of 46". There is a matching black satin belt that measures 2" by 68" which allows ample length to wrap and tie securely. EF does not list the XL size measurements but at the DreamGirl site, it is listed as size 14/16, D/E cup, bust of 38-40", waist of 29--31", hips of 40-42" and weight of 160--180 lbs. The rise of the thong is listed at 8.5"--9". Rise is the measurement from waist to waist down and through the crotch. The thong measures (unstretched) 13" at the waist with lots of room for stretch (it is just a plain, narrow band of soft elastic--very). The rise is 17" and measures 4" across the back, tapering to 2" in the front with a 1.5" by 4" thin cotton liner. I prefer this thong to a g-string-it is much more comfortable and still sexy enough. My measurements fall within the size range with the exception of my waist, which is 35" and my weight which is 150 lbs. Overall, it fits well but in the middle (waist), where I am very "thick"- I feel like I would want more fabric. But for those of you with a thinner waist, this will fit great. It is a loose, wrap style and is very forgiving.

This robe (30" long) fell at 3" below my groin, including the 5" very flouncy lace trim. The sleeves have the same lace trim which although the item is described as having 3/4 length sleeves; they were more like full length on me, but still lovely.

The robe has a neck label telling you that it is 100% polyester with 100% lace trim. It is machine washable and hang to dry. Use a cool iron if necessary. Since it arrived moderately wrinkled, I am guessing that it will require some touch up ironing. I'll let you know in a follow up.

3 days later: Sure enough, after washing and line drying (I hung it on a hanger to dry), this needed ironing. Because it is polyester, I used a low steam setting and it came out fine. The lace did not need any touching up. I was worried that the washer would eat up the lace, but it did not.

I wore the robe for awhile with the thong that came with it and it was very comfortable however, it being winter where we live, it was not very warm. I put on a white T-shirt and some black satin PJ pants from another set purchased at EF and felt much warmer. With the thong alone, this is ultra hot and for the eyes of you and an intimate partner only. With a T-shirt and PJ bottoms, I would feel comfortable wearing this around anyone, including my parents.

This is really nice. It needs something to complete it, unless you like surprising your partner at the door wearing nothing but a smile. You need the robe for the neighbors!!
