Three piece halter set - bra and g-string set discontinued by Magic Silk - review by Breas

The Three Piece Halter Set by Magic Silk is available in size S/M, L/XL, and plus size. I purchased the L/XL for myself. The outfit arrived in a rectangular cardboard box. The front of the packaging has a photo of a model wearing the outfit and states the company name and product name.

The back of the packaging has a few photos of a model wearing different outfits by the company that are similar in style. The back also states the outfit material composition, and care instructions. You could use the packaging for storage but I just keep mine in a drawer. The packaging can be recycled.



Inside of the cardboard packaging, the outfit is folded, wrapped in paper, and inside of a plastic baggy. The outfit consists of three pieces: the g-string, bra, and skirt. The outfit is 95% polyester and 5 % spandex. The material has a lot of stretch to it. The material is not sheer and does not become sheer the more it is stretched.



I’ve taken a few measurements of the outfit laying flat, unstretched. If you need additional measurements, please let me know and I will get them for you.

Waistband unstretched: 13 inches

The material had a really strong plastic odour when I had first taken it out of the packaging. After it sat out for a few hours, the smell faded. The g-string matches the rest of the outfit with its bright red, wet-look style appearance. When I was taking measurements of the g-string, I was surprised that it only stretched to about 20 inches at maximum. It seems rather small, especially for XL. The g-string does have a small lining in the crotch.

The skirt has an elastic waistband so it’s quite stretchy. The top piece of the outfit has two closures: plastic snap closure at the centre back of the bra, and two ties that tie behind the neck. The ties that tie behind the neck are quite length and they are also stretchy. They shouldn’t be an issue for anybody in terms of length. The snap closures at the centre back of the bra are plastic. They look like little circles with a cut down each side of the circle. You just clip the two circles together and snap them closed. It’s really simple.



Since the closure to the centre back of the bra is the circle snaps, the width really isn’t adjustable. You can add width by stretching the top but you can’t actually do any adjusting with the closure. The entire bra is trimmed with elastic band, even the keyhole cut out, so it can be stretched quite a bit. The bra does not have padding or underwire in it. If you’re concerned about nipple outline or piercing jewellery showing through the material, you’ll want to wear a pair of pasties beneath the top.

So when I tried the outfit on, I tried on the g-string first. My predictions were correct; the waistband does not fit me. I was able to put the g-string on but the band gave my 41-inch hips some terrible muffin top because it dug into the hip fat. This was disappointing but I figured I could always pair the rest of the outfit with another pair of underwear, or just go commando.

The skirt fit comfortably. I’m 5’6 and the length covers my crotch. The length at the back covers most of my bum but leaves the bottoms of the bum cheeks exposed. The top fit my C cups well and the band fit comfortably on me. I usually wear a size 38 in bra band size. I think that the L/XL could possibly work for someone with a cup size larger than mine but nothing more than that.

The top and skirt were comfortable and the material was not bothersome to my skin while I wore it. The care tag states that the outfit should be hand washed in cold water and dried flat. The outfit should not be bleached.

Overall, I like the outfit but I can’t stop thinking about the Spice Girls when I look in the mirror… I guess I’m just not used to the shiny red material yet. I feel like Britney Spears in her “Oops, I did it Again” video, just with less clothing.

With my wet-look pieces that I wear in the bedroom, they’re a solid black colour. I’m glad I gave the red a try but I don’t feel as badass as I do compared to the black colour. Usually when I wear my wet-look pieces, I dominate. I don’t feel like that with this outfit. I’m not holding that against the outfit though, that’s just my personal opinion.

I’ve deducted one star from the rating because the g-string is smaller than the rest of the outfit. It would have been nice if I were actually able to wear the underwear with the outfit since it matches but it’s not a huge deal that I can’t. I probably won’t wear the outfit too often but I think it’s a nice outfit for those who love the bright, wet-look, flashy red.
