Yay Leggings! (S)

If you're looking for a new comfortable pair of go to leggings, you really can't go wrong with these. They're soft and stretchy and comfy and don't make your legs sweat. You can see a muffin top if you're slightly too big for them, but you don't feel it and that's pretty awesome. If you're thinking about these, go for it!

What am I getting here, and why are you telling me about them?

You're getting some pretty bitching leggings here. They'd be great for wearing as pants (if they don't show your pooge at all) or as leggings underneath a tunic length top or even a dress. They're comfortable and versatile, and I think everybody should have a pair.

Sweet! What's the packaging look like? And the materials and care?

The packaging was just a simple plastic bag. There was a tag with a model wearing them that was easily removable. Inside the leggings is another tag with the materials and the care on it. It tells you that your leggings are 92% Polyester and 8% Spandex and should be hand washed in cold water. I'd feel comfortable running them through the washing machine on cold and low and then letting them air dry, but you do so at your own risk.

Fair enough. What's the sizing like?

Surprisingly forgiving. I've gained a bunch of weight recently, and I was torn between the small and the medium. Small might be too small which would be unflattering, medium might end up too big which would also be unflattering. I ultimately went with the small, which according to ForPlay means that I should be between a size 2-6, 24-26" waist, 34-36" hips, 32" inseam, and weigh 95-115 pounds. I meet none of those anymore really, except the size 6 part. I'm about 5'2", I weigh about 130, my waist is about 28 1/2", where my pants sit around the top of my hips is about 35", around my butt is about 41", and my inseam is about 29". There was some muffin topping at the top, and depending on my underwear you can see the panty lines, but otherwise they fit quite comfortably. They don't feel like they dig in at all. Another nice thing is that they don't look like I'm too short for them. I can pull the bottoms up so that they're at the base of my ankle and there's no ugly bunching. I mean, there's some bunching, but it didn't look bad to me at all.

So something that doesn't run small? How awesome is that??

Pretty darn awesome if I do say so myself.

Cool! So describe the leggings to me more. What do they look like, feel like, how well have they held up?

They look and feel a lot like a wet look piece to me. When wearing them, they have the appearance of leather, but when you get close up you can tell they're not. The biggest question I was asked while wearing these is "aren't those hot?" and the answer is no, they're surprisingly not. I mean if you were to wear them on a really hot day or into something like a sauna then yes, you'd be really hot in them. But while they don't necessarily breathe well, they don't suffocate either. Another thing I love about them is that they have working pockets in the back! I wouldn't use them to hold a lot, but a small cell phone or something like that would stay no problem.

As for how they've held up, I'm a little more ehh on that. The boots I love to wear them with poked a small hole, but the hole hasn't gotten any bigger. The one thing I was actually a bit irritated with is one of the pockets in the back started to come off. It's still on, and as long as I don't tug on it it'll stay on, but it's obviously falling off. Here's a picture of the pocket.

Got any pictures?

I sure do! Here's my usual front/side/back along with a shot of the dress I wore them with the last time I wore them out.

Experience
It took me forever to find somewhere I could wear these, and that was the day I said "fuck it" and just put them on with a long tunic type dress. Since then, these have become the go to leggings for dresses that are too short for me to feel comfortable wearing alone. I think they're ridiculously comfortable, but when I can't wear them anymore for whatever reason, I'll definitely be buying another pair, just probably in a size up to reduce the muffin topping appearance. I would be giving these 5 stars since I'm doing nothing but raving about them, but since the pocket has started coming off (without being run through the washing machine at all) I'm knocking it down to 4. It can easily be sewn back on, I've just been too lazy to do it.

Hey just wanted to give a double thanks for this review. I ended up getting a pair because of you and not only do I love them to death (They look great on you and just as great on me, yay!) but they ended up keeping me warm on an ill-fated camping trip as well. So thanks!
