Zig zag dress and thong - mini dress discontinued by DreamGirl - review by LambChop

The Zig Zag dress and thong by Dream Girl is a nice change from lacy lingerie. It's definitely sheer like lace, but instead of lace, the fabric is black and sheer black mesh in a zig-zag pattern. Silver threads border the black zig zags. The trim around the edges of the dress (and the thong) is silver, but it's not metallic, like lame', but more like silver athletic shorts...shiny, but not metallic. As a matter of fact, this whole dress gives the impression of a sexy athletic outfit. The cut and style, along with the pattern and the lace-up back all contribute to the 'sexy activewear' look. Even though it's called a 'dress' it is definitely lingerie, and not for public wear though! It is totally sheer, and the back is mostly open.

The tank-style cut of the dress is very flattering and will emphasize your curves. However, keep in mind that there is not much support for busty ladies, and if worn tightly it can be 'smashing'!

From the front, this looks like a regular sleeveless dress. The back, though, is where the unusual style takes center court. The entire back laces from neckline to hem with a black ribbon through black lacy trim fabric. This can be adjusted as needed to show more skin or less. This adjustment will also help with fit. Out of the package, mine was laced completely shut, which made it too tight to get over my head. To wear this dress, plan on unlacing for about 15 minutes to get it right. Even unlaced to 1"+ wide, the dress felt a little tight. It was definitely very short. Laid flat, the dress measures 30" from the top of the shoulder seam to the hem. As packaged, it's about 11" across when laid flat, but remember it's got an adjustable back and lots of stretch.

Unfortunately, I think this is mostly designed for smaller ladies. If you are short and thin or even short and slightly curvy, this is great for you. If you have large breasts or large hips, this may not be the outfit for you.

Packaging is a shiny cardboard purple and black pouch with a photo of a model showing the front and the back of the dress. Note the photo of the model on the product page -- the back of the dress is WIDELY unlaced.) The dress itself is in a small plastic bag inside of the cardboard pouch, typical of lingerie packaging. This is a travel-friendly outfit -- no wrinkling and it takes up practically no space. If this fits you, you're a winner! Hand wash and drip dry.

If you'd like to sport some sexy lingerie without looking overly 'girlie' then this is the piece for you. It has a fun athletic and sporty look and is very feminine, but there are no bows, ruffles, or lace, and sometimes that's just the thing.

A word on sizing: This dress is listed as 'one size fits most' and I think we all know what we think that means. "One size fits tiny." In this case, that seems to be mostly true. I wear a 6-8 in a dress, and this, even with the laces loosened, is very tight. It is also VERY SHORT. This fits me more like a shirt, barely covering my ass. I'm 5'6". The thong is also one size, and I'd call it small to medium. Shop accordingly.
If you are a tiny girl, this will look great on you. If you are a normal size or larger, you might want to pass.

This still doesn't really fit, obviously. I ended up giving it to a smaller friend. She likes it and it's holding up well.
