Use

As I stated earlier, in the I-Tap Vibe review, my wife is on a mission to collect all the I-Tap products. This is the second product she has received. On to the review:

The I-Tap bullet, made by Cal Exotics, is designed specifically for the purpose of clitoral stimulation. This particular toy can be used during playtime with a partner, or also on your own.

Again, this particular toy is in the I-Tap series. Therefore, it comes in purple, pink, and white. My wife chose purple.

One drawback is that this particular toy is not waterproof. The other drawback is the amount of noise this particular vibrator makes. It is of the size and control type that would make an excellent toy for anytime play, but cannot be used in that fashion due to the sound level this bullet generates.

Material / Texture

The handset for this particular toy is made from ABS plastic. The bullet is made from silver plated ABS plastic. ABS plastic is latex and phthalate free. It is also Hypo-allergenic, so those with allergies should not have to worry.

There is no smell to this toy. The bullet, itself, is completely smooth, except for one seam that divides the bullet in two. The controller is also smooth, except for finger ridges at the battery compartment cover.

I would say that this toy could be for beginners and advanced users alike. It has vibrations that will get the job done, but for those of you looking to go into orbit, you may want to find something different.
    • No odor
    • Smooth

Design / Shape / Size

The design and shape of this toy is pretty common. The major difference is the control unit. It works with a simple touch. There are no buttons or knobs to fiddle with.

The bullet is 2 1/8 inches long. It has a 1 inch diameter. The weight of the bullet is similar to a 9 volt battery. There is no cord protector or seal on the bullet, so that rules out water play. It also rules out being sterilized.

The wire used to attach the controller to the bullet is 32 inches long. It is clear in color.

The control unit is 4 3/8 inches long and 1 5/8 wide at the bottom, and tappers where the cord is inserted. There is also no cord protector on the control unit.

On the bottom of the controller, there are ridges built into the battery cover. It slides open and then flips up.

Functions / Performance / Controls

There's not much I can say in the way of controls. There is a sticker on the top of the controller, near the cord insertion, that says "Touch Me". That is the only control part of the entire toy.

The I-Tap has another characteristic in the series. There are five different functions. These are:

1-Low vibration
2-High vibration
3-Two pulses low, then high continuous for about two seconds, then back to pulse
4-High pulse, continuous
5-Low pulse, continuous

The vibrations the bullet puts out are quite strong. The drawback, again, is the amount of noise associated with them. It does limit its use, but would not make it through a door. It will be heard under a blanket, though.

Also, as I stated before, this one is not waterproof. It would also be limited to external use, due to this fact.
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

Care and maintenance are quite easy, if you keep in mind, no water. The bullet and control unit can be wiped off with alcohol, or a wash cloth with soap and water on it. Toy cleaner will also work on a wash cloth.

I do not ever recommend sharing of toys, but this one is near the top of that. The bullet is not totally sealed and would be almost impossible to sterilize. It is also not practical to use a condom with this toy. There could be issues if the lubricant/spermicide went into the bullet.

Also, the manufacture recommends a water based lube for use with this toy. I would recommend applying the lube to yourself, and use in moderation. I state this for the protection of the toy, but more so to the fact that material from lubes, etc., may become lodged inside the bullet.

The controller operates on 2 AAA batteries. Make sure not to be holding the controller near the touch end, or it will not operate and you will have to remove the batteries again to fix it.
    • Easy to store
    • Hard to clean

Packaging

This toy comes in the normal I-Tap packaging. The box is 2 7/8 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches deep and 7 1/4 inches tall. The box displays the control unit and bullet on the front, back, and one side. It states,"Touch Activated Bullet-Just Tap 'n Go!" It is made in China for Cal Exotics. It also says not to immerse in water, clean before and after each use, and to use a water based lubricant.

The toy itself, is inside a plastic bag. This bag is near in size to a sandwich bag, but has no top closure.

The box is a great place to store the toy, but it is a bit on the bigger side. I would say to put it in the plastic bag, or something similar, and store it in a toy box or dresser drawer. For now, my wife keeps hers in the box.

It does come with directions concerning battery installation. It also warns about touching the control end during battery installation and what to do, if it happens.
    • Good for storage
    • Recyclable
    • Very informative

Personal comments

Yes, as I stated before, my wife is hell-bent on getting this collection. She also has to have the purple ones.

I have a few drawbacks with this toy. The cord at the controller or the bullet may be prone to breaking. There is no cord protector at these points. Also, moisture or lubricants may get stuck inside the bullet. The cord can easily be pushed up or pulled out at the point it enters the bullet. Be careful!

For me, I found holding the controller flat in the palm of my hand was a bit uncomfortable. Holding it so the controller was sideways, and facing out so my thumb worked the touch area, was the easiest. It is very easy to accidentally change settings, but in this position, my thumb could rest on the side, avoiding those accidents.

Now, to my wife's thoughts:

Experience

My husband has taken the liberty to explain that I have a quirk when it comes to having a complete set of anything. So, this was the next toy that I wanted in the I-Tap line. I am still amazed at the technology of it, but it does still need some work on perfecting the toy for the optimal experience.

This is the second bullet I have had experience with. I will say that this is a good choice for beginners. It is extremely easy to use and has absolutely no intimidation factor with it. I enjoy the simplicity of the whole I-Tap line.

The bullet itself gave just the right vibrations and the right combinations of vibrations. It is stronger then the other bullet I have tried, but it is not uncomfortable or overwhelming in stimulation that it provides. The sensations for clitorial play was a wonderful addition to our experience. This could also be used for any sensitive area for added sensations, for example, on your nipples.

This toy is great for couples to play with, but it is perfect for solo play. The control base is thin plastic and very light. You hold it like you would a small remote control to a TV. The placement of the "touch" portion that controls everything is conveniently placed towards the top of the tear-drop shaped control base. Please be aware that while you are putting in the batteries, not touch the "touch me" spot on the control base. This will cause it to reset and it will not start until you take out the batteries and try placing them again. The batteries are easy to put in. You do so by just sliding open the battery compartment.

There are a few improvements that would have made this toy better, but they are few. The first thing is that the cord is something that you need to stay aware of, whether it be because of excess pulling which causes damage to the toy or that the cord is long enough that it does get in the way at times.

Another issue is that because of the design, it is very easy to change settings. This usually would occur at the least opportune time. I will admit that there is nothing wrong with getting to that "edge", but after a while you really do just want the toy to help you leap off that edge. This can become frustrating.

The last thing is that the bullet is on the louder side, and when you go through the settings, there is an apparent rattling sound that accompanies some of those settings. It is not bad, but it could be distracting. I did seem to favor the second setting the most because it had less rattling of a rattling to it and the vibration was just right. The last setting was my least favorite and it was only because it sounded and felt like a car sputtering while in park. This setting was not my cup of tea.

I would recommend this toy to both beginners and more experienced users, leaving it more suitably constructed for the beginners. I believe that advanced users would like the vibrations that this toy puts out and the technology behind the toy, but I am sure that it would be less enjoyable for them as a "go-to" toy.

I am glad that I have this added to our collection. While it may not get used all the time, it will be one that gets pulled out occasionally because of its ease of use.
