A butterfly flaps its wings

It's great for hands free fun, and a nice little starter toy. It is a cute design, and the more "girly girl" group might enjoy having something so adorable and pink. Not a bad purchase choice for someone wanting an inexpensive clitoral thrill.

extremely useful review
Package: The Venus Butterfly comes in the regular Cal Exotics packaging, a clear plastic box. No hiding this one folks. It's a small box though, so that's good. They're not generally great for storage, better to just toss it. Besides, the toy is much smaller anyway, and would be far easier to store without the box. It does arrive with not one but two batteries. That's a win there, since they are those tiny watch batteries.

Material: Made of a jelly-like TPR material. It's flexible and soft, with no smell to speak of. Safe for use with all lubes. It cannot be boiled for sanitation, so best to clean with soap and water or toy cleaner, and use barriers when sharing toys with non-fluid-bonded partners. There aren't particular restrictions on storage either. The straps are elastic with plastic clips, similar to those seen on the ends of removable bra straps. Elastic is flimsy at best... I would relate it to the elastic you'd find on cheap-o underwear. The bullet is also plastic, and does have a rubber o-ring to make it water resistant.

Use: This toy packs quite a little punch for such a small thing, although it's your basic bullet-hidden-in-something-else kind of toy. It's not for insertion, so for me it was more of a foreplay aid, and in that duty it performed quite well. The straps are perfect for hands free use, which was especially helpful as I tended to the needs of the husband.

I will take a moment here to address the straps. I have another toy that straps on in similar fashion (The Persnickety Penguin: https://www.edenfantasys.com/vibrators/strap-on-vibrators/persnickety-penguin), and in comparison, the straps aren't what I was hoping they'd be. The elastic is much thinner and seems far less durable than the Penguin. Also, I'm SO not a fan of the way they thought you should be attaching it to yourself! The plastic clips are next to impossible to do by yourself! I had a hard enough time with them on my swimsuit with the detachable strap, but on my sex toys? NO THANK YOU. The snaps on the Penguin are far better suited to the use. Besides, the plastic they chose for them is cheap at best. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't break with regular use, rendering the hands free part of the toy useless. Also, there isn't nearly as much elastic to work with. I'm on the larger side myself (size 12/14 with a "mom body"), and the elastic, even at the largest adjustment, was kind of digging into me. Therefore, it's probably better suited to the thinner user.

The little bullet inside does give a great little buzz, with three levels of vibration that you can adjust with a push of the button up the butterfly's butt. It is entirely encased in the butterfly TPR form, which is both a plus and a minus in my book. It's a plus because that does make it far more water resistant than my (wired) Penguin toy. It's a minus because MAN is that thing tough to get out to get at the batteries! It definitely takes some serious fenagling to get it pulled out far enough to unscrew the battery end of the bullet, and shoving it back in there was just as trying. Honestly, I put the batteries in and then was too perturbed to use the toy. So gear up for that battle when you buy it.

The shape of the butterfly itself was perfect for me. It hit all the right spots in the right ways, and the TPR is comfortable enough to lend itself to being pressed hard onto my body.
Experience
Overall, it did what it was intended to do. It gave me a nice little clitoral feel while still allowing me to use my hands in other endeavors. I don't think it would be enough to get me off by itself, because I'm someone who needs a lot of stimulation from my vibrators, but it's definitely a nice kind of "keep me going" toy. I definitely enjoyed doing my "wifely duties" more when I had some stimulation for myself, and it allowed me to use both my hands for my husband... an attribute that HE thoroughly enjoyed! I won't say it's my favorite toy of all time, but definitely not the worst by far.

One more thing to note, when I read "wireless", for some reason I thought that meant it had a remote. Call it ignorance on my part, but I think they just need to not say anything at all regarding whether it has wires or not. It's a bit misleading.

These kind of products always look like a gamble because of the elastic straps. I just don't see how they could last!
