This line of toys from Doc Johsnon pairs a simple bullet-style vibrator with silicone sleeves that can be slipped onto the vibrator for extra stimulation. Sleeve designs include a rabbit, a rippled shape, a curved blossom, and this design, the spiral-shaped "curly cue". The bullet vibrator can be used on its own, or paired with the sleeve for a different sensation. A ring is built into the silicone sleeve to make slipping this toy onto a finger easy, making it convenient for use during sex with a partner as well as solo play.

The vibrator itself is made of smooth, rigid ABS plastic. The sleeve is made from a velvety textured pthalate-free silicone. One benefit to the sleeve being separate from the vibrator is that you can remove the sleeve for cleaning, since silicone can stand up to more rigorous cleaning techniques than plastic. The design of the sleeve does require a bit of attention when cleaning, though, as it contains a few crevices where fluids can collect.

While the plastic vibrator on its own can be used with any kind of lube, you should avoid pairing silicone lubes with the sleeve.

Both the vibrator and the sleeve are odor and taste-free.

This is a small toy, making it easy to travel with or keep hidden. However, that means that it is mostly restricted to external stimulation only, since there really is not any length to insert.

The ring on the silicone sleeve will stretch to fit a variety of finger sizes. This design feature comes in handy (pardon the pun) if you tend to have trouble hanging on to small toys when things start getting slippery. The curlicue design adds a little variety if you're bored of plain bullet vibrators, but doesn't change the actual feel of the toy all that much. Unlike some similar toys, the bullet vibe is very easy to remove from the sleeve for cleaning or just to use on its own.

Given the small size of this toy, the vibrations travel pretty equally throughout its small length. The curled tip does make it easy to focus the vibrations on a specific spot. A single button at the base of the toy controls everything. Each press of the button scrolls through one of the 10 functions, which include the standard low, medium and high steady vibrations, as well as 7 varieties of pulsing vibrations. All of the pulse modes are quite quick, so if you like longer pulses or escalations this may not be for you. Holding the button down for two seconds will turn it off, and when turned back on it will start at the setting following the one you were last on.

The toy is powered by three watch batteries, which are included. These are inserted by unscrewing the cap at the base of the vibrator. A small sticker inside the battery compartment offers directions on which direction to face the batteries. There is an o-ring sealing the battery compartment; so as long as the cap is screwed on carefully, the toy is waterproof.

Both the vibrations and the noise level are fairly average. Using the sleeve muffles the sound of the vibrations a bit, but not significantly. The vibrations can still be heard through a thick blanket, but probably will not be heard from another room unless you have especially thin walls. The vibrations themselves are a little buzzy, and although they are definitely strong enough to be stimulating, those that need strong vibrations might need to keep another toy handy to finish things off.

The fact that this toy is waterproof and can be separated into the two pieces (sleeve and vibrator) make clean-up simple. The silicone sleeve can be sterilized by boiling or being run through the dishwasher. Both pieces can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water or a toy cleaner. Extra attention should be paid to the details of the curly design, as fluid likes to accumulate and dry there.

The toy comes packaged in a simple plastic clamshell-style package. A paper insert is printed with the name of the product and a whimsical floral design on the front, with basic information about the toy listed on the back. The front of the package is molded to fit the shape of the vibrator and sleeve, so it could be used for storage if you prefer to keep the toy secluded from the rest of your stash.

This toy falls in the middle of the pack for me: it's good but not amazing. It's not a must-have, but it's fun to have.
