A Kind Of "Magic"

Seems to me that the Intimate Glider is a teaser & not a pleaser. Absolutely something that's great to turn you on but might not get you off as easily as you'd like it to. Although it's great for after you get off too. The three light/moderate vibration settings make your post-orgasmic descent down from Heaven and back to Earth more of a lingering float rather than a sudden fall.

Use

This is one of those 3 speed G-spot vibrators that can easily double as a clitoral stimulator because of it's shape, flexibility and bullet placement. Not only does a two-in-one such as this save money, it saves space in your toy box too.

In my opinion it's almost like the vibrator equivalent of a stripper: it gets you all worked up but it won't give you an orgasm unless you spend a lot of time with it. Basically it's much better at teasing than it is at pleasing. It always leaves me wanting more in both a bad way and good way. Bad because I know that it can't satisfy me by itself; good because it gets me further in the mood to be satisfied.

I have been quoted as saying "When I have sex for the first time I don't want to have to bring any sexual accoutrement in bed with us" but this might be an exception. It's partner-friendly but not partner-oriented like vibrating cock rings are. It isn't intimidating as a massager can be or realistic to the point that he'll be jealous of it. It isn't too overtly feminine either as something shaped like Hello Kitty or a teddy bear. I can't see any rational man or woman having objections to letting this tag along with you.

Material / Texture

TPE stands for ThermoPlastic Elastomer. It gets a six out of ten on the scale of material safety. It's less porous than Cyberskin (2/10) but more porous than silicone (10/10). An occasional stray hair sticks to it but nowhere near as much as Crystalessence does. Not only is this my first experience with TPE but my first toy that wasn't made with some type of jelly. I have to admit that it's nice (in Snagglepuss voice: refreshing even) not having to worry so much about whether toxic chemicals are seeping into my lady parts because it's phthalates-free. Not to mention hypo-allergenic and latex-free.

Out of curiosity and for the good of this review, I smelled it immediately after opening. Not until I pressed my nose against it did I experience any fragrance/odor/scent. Nostril to shaft, it smelled kind of like nail polish remover which obviously grossed me out but being the brave little toaster that I am I tried it anyways. Now that we've become very familiar with each other, it smells a lot more like "mon doux chatte" than anything else.

Being smooth makes it universally pleasing for both the novice and the expert.

Design / Shape / Size

I'm not too fond of this shape for a G-spot vibrator (I prefer something more like Joanna Angel's Bad Ass G-bullet) but I know that a lot of other people are. Just inserting it in its natural state did very little for me. To feel it where I needed to, I bent the head all the way down, sort of doubling it over, and put it in that way. I was quite pleased with those results.

The circumference varies from 4.75" at the base to 1" at the tapered tip where the bullet is located. I obviously wouldn't recommend this for penetration purposes.

As is evident in the photos, the base of this is round. I have one small issue with that because I can't make it stand up. Sometimes I have to readjust something or change my position and when I put it down, it has to "lay" on something.

Functions / Performance / Controls

One of the problems with my last G-spot vibrator was the bullet was in the middle and not at the tip. I'm very glad to report that the bullet inside this is right where it needs to be. The tip is rather small, making it perfect for pinpoint precision on whatever hot spot you decide to use it on.

This has three speeds. Approximately on the vroom scale the first is a 2, the second is a 2.5 and the third is a 3. This is not enough, or at least not enough to warrant a clitoral orgasm. The relatively low intensity of the vibrations fail to make me cum but never fail to make me wet. They're a perfect appetizer or even dessert but they won't suffice for the main course. Personally, I'm always starving so if you aren't all that hungry or you're usually satisfied with just having salad, then order this.

The settings are controlled by one little easy to press button in the center of the bottom of the base. Up until now I had only used a dial base and was worried that the button would end up being pushed at the least convenient moments. There was no need to worry. Even while I'm on top of Clive with this pressed between my curvaceous cooch and a leopard-print pillow or two, the button is unharmed and the speed remains stable. I'm finding this control type to be extremely convenient and even easier than an already very easy dial base. Maybe it's just me but there have been more than a few times where I went to turn the dial of my vibrator off and accidentally turned it up higher instead. I do know my left from my right but during those moments following climax, my mind is blank.

Another thing about this that I was unaccustomed to was how the batteries are inserted. I totally didn't need battery instructions for Clive, my champ flex, but he came with them nonetheless. Conversely, I did needed instruction for this but there were none. After unscrewing the base, you don't find just the standard little hole, you kind something inside it. It honestly took me about three minutes to figure out that that piece inside is supposed to slide out. That piece is kind of like a cage where you put the batteries and slide it back inside the base. It's one of those things that is ridiculous simple to the point that it's simplicity makes it complicated. Either that or I'm really, really slow.

One thing about this that I appreciated was how the vibrations didn't weaken or become dull when I used it internally as opposed to externally, as I have experienced before.

Under the covers on the lowest speed, this is silent or as close to silent as any working vibe can get. The 2nd & 3rd speeds are a tad louder but extremely easy to drown out with music, tv, moaning, the rain, etc. The only time when the noise is really all that noticeable is when it comes in contact with something else I'm using.

Yes, this is waterproof, see Experience section for details.

Care and Maintenance

Package instructions say "remove batteries when not in use" but you should be doing that with all vibes anyway. Despite my initial battery placement confusion, it seems easier to slip out the little cage rather than to remove the batteries alone. I've gone on quests to locate batteries after they've rolled away because I took them out since the last time I used them. The cage keeps them together and stops them from rolling away.

Another thing that you should already be doing is putting condoms on toys if they're being shared.

Package says "wash before and after each use." TPE can be washed with warm water & toy cleaner or mild soap but it CANNOT be disinfected with boiling water.

On the Material Guide's TPE page, it says that it is compatible with silicone-based lubricants but on the packaging it says "always use a water based lubricant with product for maximum pleasure." I think it's better to take my lube cues from the product information that it comes with rather than general information about the material.

Packaging

The packaging is pretty standard for any type of gizmo. One side of the plastic is molded to fit the product and the other side is flat. Basically the same type of packaging that head phones come in. You could definitely store it in there but it can be a bit tricky to open if your fingers are all lubed up.

Under the name it says: Maximum Stimulation at the Tip

These go down the left side:
~Slim, Soft & Pliable
~Powerful 3-Speeds of Vibration
~Moves with You

There are a series of symbols on the right side. Two of them say "waterproof" & "Safe and Pure"

*No instructions were included but the following was printed on the back*
Material: TPE. Uses 2 AAA size batteries, not included.
TWIST CAP SECURELY BEFORE USE.
Wash before and after each use. Remove batteries when not in use. Always use a water based lubricant with product for maximum pleasure.

Experience

I refuse to "submerge" with any toy that has batteries or is in any way electric, no matter how waterproof it claims to be so I'll never know if anything is truly waterproof. However, I will absolutely take it in the shower with me. The first time we did that, I held it in place on my clit while my other hand worked a dildo and oh-em-gee, I came so fast & so hard. Maybe because of the way my weight is distributed when I'm standing up but it felt completely different than when I used it laying down. Once I get a new vibe, this one is taking up permanent residence in my bathroom.
Follow-up commentary
I never really disliked this but I definitely like it more now that we've spent more time together. With patience & brand new batteries, I was actually able to have a pretty nice clitoral orgasm on . . . wait for it . . . the lowest setting!
