The Stubby Nubby G from California Exotic arrived in an easy to open clamshell case. It’s definitely a cute toy with a silly name, and reminds me of one of those seahorse pool flotation devices with the ring around its middle. The toy had a very slight scent when removed from the packaging. Not horribly unpleasant, but a bit strange and very light. A washing and airing out got rid of the scent and I haven’t noticed it any more.

The Stubby Nubby G is made from TPE material. TPE is a type of rubber and more porous than silicone, so a condom should be used if sharing. This toy cannot be boiled or sterilized, but should be cleaned with warm water and a mild soap. Both silicone and water-based lubricants work well with TPE toys.

The Stubby is a see-through pink waterproof g-spot vibrator, with a white bullet inside. You can see the bullet, located about halfway up the insertable part, through the pink material. The material clings to it, and you can adjust it a bit back and forth (although this really doesn’t change the function at all). It’s about 1 1/2” wide at its widest point, and has about 4 1/2" of insertable length (this includes the g-spot bend). The “donut” ring is about 3/4” wide, and about 4” in diameter. It is covered with two rows of nubs around the sides. The nubs will connect with your labia when the Stubby is fully inserted, but don’t really provide a lot of stimulation.

Two AA batteries power the Stubby. The base of the toy unscrews, and the battery holder comes out to hold the batteries. There is an o-ring visible when the base is unscrewed which keeps the batteries dry when the Stubby is in the water. The Stubby worked great in the shower as well as the tub, and I didn’t notice any water leakage into the battery compartment. The battery holder is labeled so it can be put back in correctly. The batteries last a reasonable time before needing to be replaced.

The vibrations are controlled by a push button on the bottom of the base. There are 4 settings for this toy: low vibration, medium vibration, high vibration, and off, and these are cycled through by a push of the button. The button is almost too easy to push – if your finger wanders on top of it during play, it will likely change speed or shut itself off. The Stubby is not very noisy – you can hear it in your hand, but not over a running shower or when it’s inserted.

The vibrations in this toy are not very strong, and are concentrated mostly towards the top and tip. Although you can feel the “donut” vibrating when it’s in your hand, the vibrations are negligible when nestled in your labia. It feels pleasant enough, and if you have g-spot orgasms easily, it may take you there. I had to partner this with an egg to climax.

I've used this vibrator less and less, as it just doesn't stimulate as I'd like. It does work well in the water, but it is just too weak to really stimulate me by itself, and it's too awkward to use with another toy in the shower. I also don't like the button placement on the bottom and the ease of flipping the speed.
