A Toy With a (Learning) Curve

The Fun Factory Delight Click 'N' Charge is an unusual toy with an interesting design. If you're willing to experiment to find the best way to use it, and it works with your anatomy, it's a really nice vibrator. It's one that I will definitely keep in my toy box.

Use

The Fun Factory Delight Click 'N' Charge is a toy with a curve - and a learning curve. This is the type of toy which you probably won't just: 1. insert and 2. cum. For me it wasn't, anyway. When I ordered it, I naturally assumed that it would stimulate my G-spot and, to a lesser extent, (due to the small clit "bump") my clit, like other dual-stimulation vibrators. But in practice, once I was able to get the placement right, it is a "rocking" toy for me; one to use for G-spot stimulation by holding the exterior portion and using it to rock the inserted portion back and forth against my G-spot. It also feels great for either female or male anal use. However, for both G-spot and male anal P-spot use, it has to be a good fit for your anatomy for the best results.

It's a toy that has many uses. You can use it for masturbation in the ways I just mentioned, during foreplay with your partner, or for extra stimulation during oral sex. I first tried it out with my husband during intercourse; during anal sex with the toy in my vagina. It wasn't a great fit, and I ended up pulling it out and using the tip for clitoral stimulation, which was quite nice. The curved handle gave me a nice handhold while the tip curved down to nestle next to my clit.

I think the Delight would best be used by experienced users who know where their G-spot is and have experience with a variety of toys, or by beginners who are willing to do some experimentation before getting the best results from a toy. I'm quite experienced with a variety of toys, but I still had to use this a few times to figure out how it works best for me.

This toy is not exactly discreet; most people would figure out that it is a sex toy. You could travel with it, but it doesn't lock in the "off" position. The buttons are offset a little from the bottom of the toy and require more pressure to push them in than most toys, as well as needing to be held down for several seconds before the toy will turn on, but it could still be turned on accidentally in a suitcase or bag. It would be best to pack it inside a box before putting it into a bag if you take it with you to travel.

Material / Texture

The Delight is made of that wonderfully dense Fun Factory silicone, with plastic on the handle end. I really like Fun Factory's silicone because it's heavy and solid enough that I can maneuver it to put pressure where I want without it bending easily, but it's also somewhat flexible and has some "give" to it, so it's never painful when pressed against my sensitive areas or clenched with my vaginal muscles. This toy is a bit smoother than my Fun Factory G4 Tiger, and without the velvety surface, but it still has a matte finish and there is some drag against the skin. You will probably want to use a nice water-based lube with it; never use silicone-based lube with silicone toys.

There are quite a few seams on this toy. The silicone curves all the way around the toy, with seams joining it to the plastic which also runs along approximately two-thirds of the toy's length. There is also a seam around the silicone control button area. On the top third of the toy, the insertable silicone part, there is a faint seam that runs along the sides starting at the plastic, up one side and across the tip, and down the other side. If you are sensitive to the feel of seams, you might have a problem with some or all of the ones on this toy. They didn't bother me at all, but I generally do not notice them when a toy is inserted.

The insertable end of the toy is all silicone and is somewhat flexible at the bend if you apply some pressure, which helps you adjust it to fit your anatomy when it is inserted.

There is no noticeable smell when the toy was first removed from its packaging. The silicone does collect a lot of lint.
    • No odor

Design / Shape / Size

I found this toy to be smaller than I expected, judging from the pictures on Eden's site. It is a little over 6" long and about 4" from side to side. It's about 1 1/4" in diameter at the tip, then tapers slightly smaller into the first curve until it reaches about halfway through that curve. At this point there is a bump that may be meant to stimulate the clitoris, but for me it settles just inside my vulva. Even though I normally like stimulation in this area, the bump is small enough that it doesn't make much of a difference. The plastic then attaches to the silicone and the remainder of the toy widens to about 1 1/4" inch again until it reaches the other end, where it again tapers into a little curved hook that is used as the end of the handle.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The control buttons for the Delight are easy to reach when it is in use, and need to be pushed just hard enough so that it isn't easy to change the settings by mistake. It's no fun to be really enjoying a setting and then change it by mistake, and you won't have that problem with this toy. The controls are simple to use. The control panel, which lights up in a red color when they toy is in use, has silicone-covered buttons, one with a "+" symbol on it and one with a "-" symbol. There is also an area between the buttons that has the word "FUN" lit up, but this part doesn't press down or control anything.

To turn the toy on, hold down the "+" button for a couple of seconds. When it turns on, you can continue to hold down the "+" button to increase the speed, or push it repeatedly; whichever is most comfortable for you. To decrease the speed it's the same idea; hold down the "-" button or push it repeatedly. There is no quick way to turn the toy off; even if you're in a hurry to shut it down you have to keep pushing that "-" button frantically through all the levels until you reach "off." This is not convenient for a household with children! I wish every toy had an "off NOW!" button.

The controls are located in a convenient place, right where there is a nice handle formed by the last loop and the curved tail of this toy. It is really comfortable to use.

On the Delight I counted eight levels of intensity. The lower levels are more rumbly, and the higher levels are more buzzy. The vibrations get pretty strong at the top, although power queens probably won't get what they need, especially if what they need is something strong and rumbly. That's generally what I like, but I was able to get what I needed from the Delight, although it did take a little while. The vibrations are very quiet, especially when inserted, and if there was a little noise or music in a room you could use this toy under a blanket without anyone else hearing it. It doesn't have any other functions or patterns, just higher or lower vibrations.

The Delight is rechargeable (Fun Factory calls their system "Click 'N' Charge). Charging is somewhat awkward. The cord plugs into the wall, and at the other end there is a round plate that sticks magnetically to two small metal connectors located at about the halfway point on the toy. I have had chargers like this on other appliances before that worked really well, but the magnets on this one don't seem to be strong enough. You have to make sure the toy is sitting on a surface where it won't get jostled at all, and then attach the magnetic cord. If either the cord or the toy gets bumped even slightly, it loses its connection and stops charging. I find it difficult to store while it's charging. If it's in a drawer, it disconnects when I shut the drawer. I found a little shelf to put it on where it doesn't get bumped at all, and that's where I charge it, but I would prefer to be able to have it in my bedside table drawer. When the toy is charging, there is a small light on the magnetic end of the charging cable that lights up the word "FUN" in red, and the control panel on the toy also blinks slowly. The charging finishes in just a couple of hours. It holds a charge well, at least an hour and a half of steady use - I haven't had it die during a play session. I always plug it in before it dies, and I haven't had any problem with the internal batteries losing their "memory" (going less time between charges). The instructions say to leave it plugged in for a maximum of eight hours at a time.

The delight is splash-proof, but not waterproof. I rinse it in the sink to clean it and have had no problems with water damaging it.

Care and Maintenance

Silicone rates a "10" on Eden's Guide to Materials, but because plastic (which is an "8") is such a big part of this toy, the entire toy is rated an "8."
This is definitely a toy to be cleaned with a toothbrush or something else that can get into those seams to keep it clean. You can use toy cleaner, a 10% alcohol solution, or soap and water, but a toy wipe probably would not get this clean enough due to the seams.

You should store this toy in a bag or box, away from other silicone toys. Because of its compact size, it will be easy to find a place to store this toy. However, keep in mind the difficult charging and put it somewhere it won't get jostled at all if it is plugged in. Conveniently, it comes with a 2-layer bag for storage. The inside layer of the bag comes completely out which I assume is so it can be washed.
    • Easy to store
    • Hard to clean

Packaging

The Fun Factory Delight comes in an attractive box with lots of little "extras." It comes with the charger, the double-layer bag, a warning sheet, a sample packet of lubricant, and funny little instruction sheets with amusing pictures (one of these shows that it shouldn't be used anally, but I don't see any chance of a problem because of the way the handle curves. However, you should decide for yourself and use it at your own risk). The outside of the box is nice, and altogether the packaging would make a nice gift presentation, but you would probably want to wrap it first to conceal what it is. The box is sturdy enough to use to store the toy in if you'd like.

    • Good for storage
    • Very informative
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

I think this is the kind of toy that people will have different experiences with depending on their anatomy and experience level with toys. When I first used it, I charged it up fully, then put a couple of drops of lube on the end and inserted it. Pop! It lodged firmly into place above my pubic bone with a slightly unpleasant feeling. I have a tilted uterus and my pelvic bone is quite pronounced in my vagina, just above my G-spot, so the toy was lodged above my G-spot area where it wasn't going to do much good. The "clitoral stimulation bump" was just inside my vagina; nowhere near my clitoris. I took it out and used a different toy since I wasn't in the mood for experimentation that day. When I tried it again a few days later, I carefully inserted it so it didn't quite reach my pubic bone, with the large bend in the middle resting against my clitoral area. I rocked it back & forth and had a much better result, with G-spot stimulation from the end and clitoral stimulation from the bend outside. It's definitely a different feeling than my favorite rabbit vibes, and the clitoral vibes aren't targeted enough for perfection, but as a whole it does do the job for me and it's a nice change from the toys I normally grab. I like it when I'm in a certain mood to spend a while building up to a nice G-spot orgasm.
Follow-up commentary
I still use this toy often. It's unique and gives a feeling that none of my other toys do. I'm glad I ordered it.

2nd follow up: I recently acquired the older version of this toy. Not only did it come in a MUCH nicer blue and purple color, but it is the version that has the storage box. It charges right in the box (the power adapter, which is a plug, not magnetic, plugs into the back of the storage box, and the toy rests in an indentation inside the box, and charges magnetically. This works so much better than the magnetic charging cord stuck directly to the toy! It's too bad Fun Factory abandoned this storage box/charger idea.
Note: the older version of the toy has slightly less powerful vibes, but it's barely noticeable.

Thanks so much for your comments.

Sangsara: I did feel pretty negative about it the first time I used it, but I'm glad I stuck with it.

bratcat: This toy definitely works better as a G-spot vibe than as a clit vibe, for me anyway. I would say it's mostly G-spot stimulation with a lesser amount of clit stimulation, which is not pinpointed on the clit, but directed toward the whole general clit area.

Love the purple color. I got the black and white but the vibrations were just so paltry...
