G-spot and clitoral vibrator by California Exotic
Truth be told, I got turned on the minute I opened my delivery box and saw the Adonis inside. Based on the elaborate packaging and Dr. Laura Berman seal-of-approval, I knew this sex toy was going to be something special. The Adonis is billed as a g-spot and clitoral stimulator, featuring "10 levels of vibration, pulsation, and escalation." It comes with a durable lavender carrying pouch and requires 4 AA batteries. The sex toy comes in two parts; the toy itself is a curved 7" long silicone vibrator with an internal mechanism that is powered by a separate remote. You can plug and unplug the two cables than run from the vibrator into the remote when you are ready to use. The remote has two on/off buttons with varying sets of speeds. One button controls the shaft or "g-spot stimulator," and the other controls the base or "clitoral stimulator" of the sex toy.
Right off the bat, I wanted to try this one out. I slipped the Adonis into its carrying case and into my purse for a night out on the town with my partner. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of plugging the cables in to the remote beforehand and sometime while we were out at a bar, I heard a buzzing sound coming from my purse. How embarrassing! More embarrassing was the fact that I had to dig around my purse and press the on/off buttons several times until they went off. Lesson #1: Don't plug the cables in until you're ready to use the Adonis. The on/off switches get bumped very easily and are a bitch to turn off.
So later on, I finally got a chance to actually use the sex toy, and gave the remote to my boyfriend as I fussed with the vibrator trying to find a good placement with it. I immediately found the base of it to be too bulky and uncomfortable for insertion without lube and couldn't find a speed that gave me any kind of pleasure. After several irritating minutes of trying to achieve orgasm, we gave up.
I put Adonis aside for a few weeks, hoping that we could meet again and begin our relationship anew after our disappointing first date. This time I decided to try him all by myself, without the pressure of a waiting partner who wanted to see results. Once again, I found insertion to be almost impossible without lube and fiddled with the different speeds, including "rollercoaster," "stairstepper," and even "superspeed," but no results. Nobody's been able to find my g-spot yet and this toy surely wasn't going to be the one.
Sorry to say, I had high hopes for this one and it let me down. Adonis didn't get me to orgasm even once and I find it a little too cumbersome to be carrying around with me all the time. Possibly we will meet again sometime, but I'm not counting on it.
