L’Amour Flutter - g-spot rabbit vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Sammi

I’ve been wrangling rabbits lately. I’ve come to enjoy them quite a bit when they work, and they can really be a nice change of pace. I had my eye on the L’Amour line from Cal Exotics and decided that the Flutter looked the most intriguing.

The Flutter comes in a clear, white, and purple plastic box with the product clearly visible through the front and information about it on the back. It rests on a clear plastic tray inside. It’s a lovely shade of lavender.

The Flutter is made of silicone, so it’s nonporous and phthalates free. It’s soft, smooth, and velvety to the touch with just a bit of drag. It has a bit of give, mostly in the tip but not too much in the shaft which is fairly firm. A seam runs up the back and down the front but it isn’t noticeable during use. The Flutter is completely odorless.

This rabbit is 9 1/2" long overall with about 5” insertable. The tip is rounded and tapered for easy insertion. While the tip is only about 1” in diameter, the shaft is 1 3/8” at its widest so it's not too thin. The shaft is smooth on the back but features some bulges on the front, with the largest one being right below the tip.

The clitoral stimulator is shaped like a butterfly and is about 2” long from the inside. It has 2 soft and flexible antennae and a bullet located in its body. The wings are about 1 1/2” wide and will provide some labial stimulation if the butterfly fits your anatomy.

The base is made of plastic in the same shade of lavender as the silicone. It has a dial on the bottom which, when turned slightly counterclockwise, comes off to reveal the battery compartment. A removable battery holder holds 3 AAA batteries and is easy to remove and replace.

The front of the base has a white panel with 3 buttons. The bottom button is a dedicated power button which will turn the whole Flutter on or off. The middle button controls the vibrations, while the top button controls the rotations. The vibrations and rotations can be controlled independently of each other.

Pressing the bottom button turns the Flutter on but doesn’t activate it. All 3 buttons become backlit with a blue LED light. Pressing the vibration button brings the bullet in the butterfly to life (this is the only bullet). The vibrations go through the following patterns:
- low and steady
- medium and steady
- high and steady
- fast pulse
- low to high rev
- faster pulse
- 3 short and 1 long pulse
- off

The vibrations are a bit buzzy, but feel more rumbly, and they are amazingly quiet. They aren’t felt in the shaft at all, only in the clitoral stimulator.

Pressing the top button cycles the Flutter through 3 speeds of shaft rotation: slow, medium, and fast. The whole shaft doesn’t rotate: rather, it’s the tip and top 2” that go around in a counterclockwise direction. The rotations are also quiet.

The Flutter is easy to clean and should be washed before and after use with warm water and an antibacterial soap. Using a toy cleaner is also fine. It can be stored in its original packaging, or in a toy bag. The Flutter is waterproof, but make sure you have the lid for the battery compartment is securely closed before submerging it in the tub. Only water-based lubricants are recommended.

The Flutter is a pretty decent rabbit. While the shaft rotation could be faster, its high speed feels great inside and the rotation was quite pleasant. I also liked the bumps on the front – they provided nice stimulation while gently thrusting.

The butterfly was just a bit too short to hit me how I’d like, but the vibrations from the bullet were quite strong and transmitted well throughout the entire clitoral stimulator, including the antennae.

I liked how the rotation and vibration could be controlled separately, and there didn’t seem to be any loss of power when both were on their high settings. I also liked the instant Off button, which made it easy to turn the whole rabbit off without fumbling with separate controls. All of the buttons were easy to press when I wanted to change the speed, and it was easy to remember which button controlled which function. The only thing that would have been nice would have been a button to go down the vibrations instead of just up.

What was truly amazing about the Flutter was its sound. Or, really, the lack of it. This has to be one of the quietest vibrators I’ve used, and my husband couldn’t hear it when he was a few feet away from me. Even with both the rotation and vibration on high, this was incredibly quiet.
