Wand massager discontinued

An improvement on the original, or just another massager?

Compared side-by-side to the Hitachi Magic Wand, the only difference that truly matters is the ability to have a range of vibration speeds instead of just two. If you don't mind the fairy and baby-girl-pink theme it could be a great alternative for those who like the power of the Hitachi on high but want a greater range of intensity of vibration.

Pros
Mouse-wheel style speed dial lets you choose from a range of vibration strengths
Cons
Not very discrete, it sounds just like the Hitachi Magic Wand - weed whackers come to mind

This off-site review is actually a comparison review - both this and the "full size" Fairy Wand Rechargeable are discussed in the review. Comparisons are made to other similar massager-style vibrators, as well.

While the Fairy Wand does offer a great improvement over the Hitachi with that varying-speed wheel control vs low-off-high, it's less discrete visually than the Hitachi (which is found in many stores and easily passed off as merely a muscle massager). On the other hand, some might find that it's prettier than the Hitachi, if you're more feminine what with the pink fairies and all.

What warranted the 3 stars? Again, while I love the the power variance, it's just not quite enough to best the Granddaddy - the Hitachi. Hitachi is a strong brand and Media Craft might not be able to measure up in quality and longevity. The child-like design theme of soft pink + fairies is not my personal taste, either.

Please do be sure to visit the off-site review link to read more in-depth though :)
Follow-up commentary
To say that I've started to like it more is going a little far, but no other choice fits really. I don't love it, and I will pick the Mystic Wand (either rechargeable or battery) over this because of the type of vibrations but there have been a few times when I needed the power that this provides - like when I pulled out my Jollie dildo and needed something that would vibrate the handle more. But overall I still don't prefer this one and the type of vibrations.
