Aquarius dolphin sex toy review

G-spot and clitoral vibrator by California Exotic

Published: February 18, 2008
useful review
For a first sex toy, I think this one was great. Small, lightweight, and fairly compact, the Aquarius Dolphin provides enough intensity for penetration or just clitoral stimulation, without making too much noise that you're always embarrassed to use it when other people are home. Great for a solo session or fun with a partner, the Dolphin makes it fun and easy for a quickie or an extended session, and because it's waterproof, it can go anywhere you do!
Pros:
Small, lightweight and compact with good vibrations
Cons:
The rubbery smell and feel of the jelly material are kind of a turn off
This toy was definitely designed
This toy (Aquarius dolphin vibrator) surprised me. I was very nervous upon placing the order and then receiving it in the mail because a) I have never used a sex toy before, let alone one that has a dolphin on it and vibrates, and b) the separate clitoral stimulator intimidated me, as well as the feel  and smell of the jelly sleeve. Overall though, I enjoyed it.

As I mentioned, it comes with a sleeve made out of jelly that fits (very) snugly over the basic plastic bullet-type vibrating case. The smell of the jelly material is a little bit weird, but doesn’t overpower or anything like that. The sleeve was a bit hard to get onto the vibrator at first and once it’s on I will be leaving it on; because it’s waterproof though, this doesn’t pose a problem as clean-up is a snap and using it in the bath or shower is also easy and a handy way to wash it as well. Note to self though, do NOT dry on a towel when it’s wet because things—cat hair, lint, etc—tend to stick to the material. Oops!

Now, as to the feel and sound. It is a relatively quiet vibrator. I live with two other roommates and I don’t feel at all uncomfortable using it when they are home, because it’s not so loud that you can hear it through the walls or anything. The sensations were great. It seemed like they would be dull and muted when feeling it with your hand, but when it’s actually touching the skin of intimate places it’s very pleasant.

One thing though is that there is only one setting, which is no vibrations (if the end cap isn’t screwed on all the way) or vibrating (when it is), so there’s no way to change or vary the sensations. I found the vibration to be too intense if I wasn’t fully aroused already.

Using it with my boyfriend was a treat though, because it’s so easy to manage and keep by the bed. He liked seeing and feeling my reaction to the vibrations, and overall seemed to enjoy it. Reportedly it’s "too strong" to try using on him though. For my first sex toy, I say that this was a good choice and a really nice way to ease into the use and enjoyment of sexual enhancers.
Follow-up commentary
Upon further usage, I still agree with my previous assessment of the Aquarius Dolphin. However, I will say that the vibrations are not quite as strong as I first thought whenbeing used for penetration. Clitoral stimulation is what this dolphin seems to do best, but with or without the vibrations on, using it as a classic dildo is also very pleasurable and effectve.

As this is jelly, make sure to cover it with a condom for every use?
