Astrovibes Virgo: A Heavenly Overall Experience

Overall, I really enjoyed this vibe. The shape of the woman’s breasts provides a great opportunity for clit and possibly G-spot stimulation, which was an unexpected bonus for me. If you’re looking for a high-quality traditional vibe that carries vibrations well, I would recommend the Astrovibes Virgo, although it may not be large or diverse enough in features to satisfy a more advanced user.

Use

The Astrovibes Virgo is intended for vaginal and/or clitoral stimulation, and therefore can safely be used either internally or externally. However, I would NOT advise using this toy anally, since it lacks a flared base and is relatively uniform in size aside from the “head” of the vibrator.

Material / Texture

The Virgo is made of 100% pure silicone, which is non-porous, body-safe, and easy to disinfect and clean. This toy is made of what I would call a matte silicone; it has more drag to it than the much more glossy Tantus toys that I own. Upon rubbing a finger over it, the texture of the toy feels more velvety than smooth, and is easily bendable and slightly squishy while still being firm.

When I sniffed the toy, I detected a VERY faint odor, not one that is very noticeable or unpleasant. It’s a slightly rubbery scent, but I couldn’t smell it unless I literally put the toy right up to my face and breathed in deeply. To put it into perspective: I’m easily bothered by weird smells, especially chemical ones (latex condoms smell horrible to me), and this didn’t bother or turn me off in any way.

Design / Shape / Size

The Virgo is a pretty teal green color and represents my Zodiac sign (well, at least it did before all of them were changed, but I digress). I think that the color is slightly greener in person than it appears in the picture on this site. It has a very unique shape and looks like a female form with a head and curves where the breasts, buttocks, and hips would be on a real-life woman. I think that the overall design is feminine without being so to the point of being “girly”, and since I don't like stereotypically girly things, it's pleasing to me.

In my opinion, this toy doesn't scream "sex toy": as I touched upon earlier, this design is unique and resembles a work of art to me. It might take an uninitiated person a second or two to figure out what it is, but the overall shape and size, not to mention the dialed base that unequivocally resembles that of a vibrator, would likely be a giveaway. Even so, I would classify this among the more discreet traditional vibes you could buy.

I measured the Virgo as being about 7” long including the base, with about 6” of insertable length. The head is about an inch in diameter, which increases to about 1.25” in diameter at the woman’s breasts and the widest point at the base of the vibrator. This translates to a little under 5” in circumference. Since this size would likely be too large for a beginner, I would classify this as a good intermediate toy.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Virgo is multi-speed and runs on two AA batteries. When I turned it on, I found that the sound is noticeable in a quiet room, but not overly loud. The lowest setting is as loud as my cell phone (I compared the two), and the highest is as loud as some of my hard plastic vibes on their medium/high speed. I put the vibe under my pillow and I could not hear it at all on the lowest setting, nor when I increased the speed slightly. However, I could clearly hear it through the sheets on the highest speed and would put it at about three bees based on that.

The base is large and turns easily, but not to where you could easily bump it. The brand name is printed on the backside of the toy above the battery compartment, and the base unscrews easily. Although the cap does fully cover the battery compartment, there is no stopper to prevent water from leaking inside. Furthermore, the included manufacturer’s instructions caution you against getting the control unit wet. Therefore, this toy is NOT waterproof or splash proof in any way, so you can’t use it in the shower and must be very careful cleaning it.

This silicone carries the vibrations well, and I was surprised to discover that I could feel the vibrations as strongly in the woman’s head as I could at the base. I put one finger on the head of the toy and one at the base to test this, and if there was a difference in intensity, it wasn't very obvious to me. I’m not sure where the motors are in this thing, but it feels like there could be more than one inside (or one pretty strong one). However, in the other review for this product on Eden, the reviewer commented that she had trouble feeling the vibrations in the woman’s head, and that the motor felt like it was halfway up the toy.

While this is obviously subjective, I had no trouble finding a spot on the Virgo where the vibrations were strong enough to stimulate my clit. I can't conclusively say if the motor is indeed halfway up the toy, but I do know that there’s nothing in the woman’s head, since I bent it easily. The lowest vibrations, however, did not do much for me and I had to turn the speed of the toy more than halfway up in order for them to be able to get me off.

Care and Maintenance

The Astrovibes Virgo is made of high-quality, 100% silicone that is body-friendly, non-porous, and phthalate-free. While most silicone toys can be boiled, bleached, or run through the dishwasher, this toy is NOT waterproof and NONE of these cleaning methods are suitable for it. Instead, wash the Virgo with antibacterial soap and water or a commercial toy cleaner, taking extra care to avoid getting the battery compartment wet. Also, since this toy is silicone, be sure to use only water-based lubes when you play with it, since any silicone-based ones would likely adhere to its surface and ruin it. It's generally a good idea to store silicone toys separately in storage.

Packaging

The Astrovibes Virgo comes in a night sky-colored box with stars on it. Aside from the fact that the product is visible through the large front window, the box is relatively discreet and the world “vibrator” and the name of the company are in small letters when compared to other sex toy packaging.

The back of the box has a cool design, in my opinion. There are two flaps that secure via magnets and unfold to reveal more information about the product on the undersides. Since the toy is made in Germany and Fun Factory is a German-based company, the full descriptions of the product are printed in German first, followed by English, French and Spanish. A short blurb on the outside describes the Astrovibes line and gives a brief description of the product. Open the flap again to read more information about the company and descriptions intended to sell the toy. The inside of that flap is essentially a diagram of the product that outlines positive features of the material and the “steplessly adjustable” multi-speed base. When I took the toy out of the packaging, it was encased in clamshell packaging that easily opened to reveal the product.

As an added bonus, there is also (be careful, I almost threw both of these away!) an insert inside of the box and a small sample of Toyfluid, Fun Factory’s brand of lubricant. The package states that it is condom safe and water-based, but it does contain glycerin, so be warned if you’ve had any reactions to this ingredient in the past. One side of the insert features pictures and names of all of Fun Factory’s other products. The other side features care instructions for the toy, in addition to clear instructions for how to change the batteries.

Experience

The woman’s head was easy for me to insert, and I was definitely able to feel the increase in size as I inserted her breasts. The pronounced bumps at this point felt good and created drag against my G-spot (not very intense stimulation, but a noticeable amount). Rubbing the bumps of the breasts against my clit also felt quite good as well. I was really pleased to find another potential use for the breasts that works very well: I inserted the head very slightly into my vagina, then tilted the toy so the breasts were stimulating my clit at the same time. The results were pleasurable, to say the least, and I had an orgasm relatively quickly once I discovered it.

I don’t know if Fun Factory had this in mind when they decided on this toy’s design, but it was a convenient stroke of genius for me. It’s relatively easy to do this since the toy is so bendable; however, I was hesitant to bend it TOO far since I didn’t want to damage the internal mechanisms, especially since the material is opaque and I couldn’t see exactly what is where. I’m not sure if this is specific to my anatomy or if anyone can do this, but it’s definitely worth a try! Either way, this vibe does make it easy to place the “cleavage” of the breasts so that your clit is sort of nestled between them, which would probably work for most women.

The toy's design really lends itself to experimenting with different angles to figure out what best suits your anatomy. I enjoyed angling this toy to provide new sensations, but I’m not sure if it has enough features to please the more advanced user. While it feels good and definitely did the job for me, it's definitely a “traditional vibe” and if you’re looking for something other than this, it won’t work for you. Also, the fact that this toy isn’t waterproof is a fairly significant one for those who like to use toys in the shower.
Follow-up commentary
I still use this toy from time to time. It's not one of my absolute favorites, but it's still a solid vibe that will definitely have a place in my toy chest among the ones that I will continue to use.

Probably the most informative and simply the best review for this product, in my opinion. You did a wonderful job! I love that detail mentioning how you used your finger to see where the vibes were stronger. I am curious about the texture of it. Glad to hear it was heavenly.
