Baby bug sex toy review
An amazing vibe that screams "quality": it's got vroom; it's practically silent; it feels amazing both inside and out. The feel of the silicone is what tops this baby above all the rest.Published: February 21, 2008
Pros:
Discreet; silent; quality build and material; mini size ,but not mini girth or power,
Cons:
A little short and unwieldy when penetrating.
The Baby Bug is a mini vibe that knocked my socks off! Everything about it screams 'cute!' and 'classy!' from the irresistibly soft and smooth silicone to the elegant packaging. When I first got the Baby Bug in my hands, I really couldn't resist playing with it. It's so tiny and cute!
It felt really good to squeeze. The texture of the silicone is incredible: smooth and soft, yet firm and resilient. You can really tell that the quality of the entire vibe is leaps and bounds above the others. I really wanted to run out and show everyone what I just got in the mail, or just leave it out... possibly not the greatest idea, but the vibe is incredibly discreet.
First off, it's waterproof. It runs on two AAA batteries, and the motor is incredibly powerful for its size. It's also incredibly silent. It'll hum, but once it was pressed against (and in me), I really almost couldn't hear a thing, especially if under the covers.
The vibe is controlled by a "plus" and "minus" on the base of the body: one press of the Plus turns the vibe on in what I call "idle mode," and then you can either cycle through the motor speed by tapping the control one speed at a time, or you can keep your finger pressed to zoom to max power. There are also three programs to this baby: an escalating "wave," throbbing pulsation, and quick pulsation. This can be accessed by turning the Bug up to max, then pressing the Plus again to switch to program mode.
Although the Baby Bug works wonderfully as an insertable vibe, I love it best externally. The sensation of the silicone rubbing against yourself is something you really need to feel. Really. It is amazing—completely different from other mixed silicone or plastic vibes I've used. The small size is also perfect—c'mon people, use your imagination!
And the vibe is small, but not slim. It's a really respectable 1 ¼ diameter, and you'll definitely feel yourself clenching around this vibe. The ripples and ridges felt really interesting and they dragged along my g-spot deliciously when I got the angle just right. For me, using the vibe internally meant lots of little, intense rubbing and not a lot of smooth, long strokes in and out. That was partly due to the fact that the entire vibe was just a little too short to get a good hold. At certain points, all I had to grip was the rounded end of the Baby Bug.
But in any case, the orgasms I got from the Bug were amazing, both internally and externally. That's the important thing, right? I highly recommend this vibe.

Follow-up commentary
7 months after original review
I'm writing this a long time after the fact, but my bug broke within a month or two, probably because I got water in it. So don't take it into the shower or bath with you, you guys!

Baby Bug in green: if one color option hasn't been in stock for months - does this mean it's been discontinued?
-
I absolutely love how the Baby Bug looks and it seems to be a great vibrator.
The green color option seems much more appealing to me than the red one, but it hasn't been in stock for at least a couple of months (maybe longer, but I wasn't an EF customer back then and I wouldn't know). The red Baby Bug, on the other hand, has been going in and out of stock during this time.
Does this mean that the green one will never be in stock again? :( -

Has anyone encountered this problem?
-
I have purchased a few "fun factory" items in the past. One thing I have ALWAYS had trouble with is the battery ends. They will either become loose where I have to literally hold that end so that it can stay on or it will not click in- as if though I over "clicked" it closed when I really havent. Is this something that others have had trouble with?
-
Whilst I dont have the baby bug I do have other fun factory toys and understand the issue you are describing - although I havent had it with a fun factory toy , but quite a few others.
I've stuck blu tack into the screw/click thread before which has helped to keep the cap in place solidly. Otherwise I'd contact fun factory - aren't their toys covered by warranty?? -

Thank you for viewing Baby bug – sex toy review page!

Aww, it has a little smiling face. That's so cute! Nice review. :)
ooh, 100% silicone, yay! How many different speeds?
Hmm, from memory, maybe around 5? From super low to a pretty nice buzz when the battery's on full power. The nice thing is that if you keep your hand pressed on the button, the speed goes up organically, so there isn't any "gear-switching" pauses between the speeds. =)
In your review you said it was waterproof but in the follow up you said you think it died cause you got water in it... I'm confused! I really like the idea of this one but waterproof is a big factor for me.
I think this toy was promoted as "waterproof" but it's merely "water-resistant." Some spray would probably be fine, but don't take it underwater with you!
Oh, the face looks like a turtle's.
Thanks for the review.
Great review.
