EZ bend bubbly - rabbit vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Crystal1

The EZ Bend Bubbly by Cal Exotics is a rabbit-style vibrator with a kind of creepy hand-looking thing where the bunny ears would normally be. The combination of internal and external stimulation at the same time make rabbit-style vibes a favorite for me, and this one didn't disappoint.

This vibrator is made out of Aqua Gel, which I had actually never heard of before. According to the EdenFantasys materials guide, this is basically the same thing as jelly. I’m not a huge jelly fan, mostly because it sometimes smells and only rates a 2 out of 10 on the EF safety scale due to not being able to sterilize it. If you plan to share this toy, you should use a condom over it, which may be a little tough with the clit attachment. If you’re not sharing, some warm water and antibacterial soap or toy cleaner should do the trick for clean-up.

As for the odor I expected? Not TOO bad. You can definitely smell it if you get close, but it is nowhere near as icky as some toys I’ve smelled. The odor did transfer to my hands when I was first checking the toy out, so you may want to wash your hands especially well after use.

The texture of this toy is listed as “veined”, but instead of realistic veins you actually have a sort of whimsical pattern of hearts, champagne glasses and swirly designs. If only this were pink instead of purple, it would be Barbie’s Dream Vibe. There’s a fairly pronounced “vein”, for lack of a better word, that spirals up the shaft of the toy. The Aqua Gel itself is a bit hard to describe. It is fairly soft and slippery- when I first opened the package it almost felt a little slimy, like the material had been “sweating” during shipping.

The design of this toy is fairly realistic, if you lived in a world where penises were imprinted with purple hearts and swirls. Color and pattern aside, the shape is fairly penis-y, with a nicely shaped, very realistic head. (I actually find the super realistc head a little confusing. It’s like the vibrator can’t decide if it wants to be all frilly and girly or hardcore.) Eden lists the length as 5 insertible inches, but measured it at almost 6 ½. The 5 ½ inch circumference is pretty nice, too. The total length of the toy is 9 inches, but unlike a lot of toys I see that leave me wondering why they didn’t just move the clit stimulator further down the shaft so you could have more insertible length, this is pretty well designed to let you take advantage of as much of the length as possible.

The clit stimulator is shaped like a champagne bottle to fit the Bubbly theme (it took me a while to figure out that’s what it was supposed to be) and is about 4" long including 1" little fingers/antennae at the end (supposed to be the champagne popping out). This part is a little odd-looking to me, like a mutilated hand or something.

As you can probably guess from the “EZ Bend Bubbly” name, this toy bends! The section in the shaft just above the upper vibrating part is flexible, and will hold the shape you bend it into fairly well.

This is not a very discreet toy, it looks pretty phallic despite the purple hearts, yellow stars and green clovers. (Okay, strike those last two.) I’d pick a different toy for travel, since this type of material loves to attract dust and hair, and this particular toy is going to take up quite a bit of room..

Overall, I think the design of this toy makes it great for a beginner, there’s certainly nothing intimidating about it. Remember on Sex & the City where Charlotte likes the rabbit because it is cute and purple and has a bunny? If you related to that, this might be a good choice for you! The only thing I’d add is that if you’re a beginner in the sense of being new to penetration, you may want to start with something a bit slimmer. This isn’t a super girthy toy, but it could be a bit much for a first experience.

So, how does this actually perform?

Spinning the dial at the base of the toy lets you change the intensity of vibrations, from low to pretty impressively strong. The vibrations are located both in the clit attachment and in another bullet located about ¾ of the way up the shaft, just below the head. The same dial controls the vibrations of both, so unlike some rabbit vibrators, you don’t have the option of just using the clit attachment without internal vibrations or vice versa. The dial is pretty easy to use, making it easy to tell when the toy is turned all the way up or off.

This is a waterproof toy, and a quick test in the bathtub proved it holds up well. Just make sure the battery cap is on securely first.

On the lowest setting, this toy is almost silent, and even at the highest level of vibrations, the noise level isn't bad at all. A little soft music playing should totally drown out the noise.

All of the details on the shaft design mean you’re going to need to take a little extra care when cleaning to make sure you don’t leave lube or fluids behind in the ridges. Both water and silicone based lubes are compatible with this toy.

Honestly, I just just store this tossed in the drawer with many other toys. This material does love to collect hair and dust, so be sure to clean the toy before use.

The EZ Bend Bubbly comes in a plastic clamshell-style package that is resealable, so you could use it to store the toy, but I find doing this to be too bulky. My package was slightly damaged when it arrived- the USPS box was fine, just the plastic package the vibrator was in was a little crushed and broken in one spot, as if it got smooshed in the warehouse or something. I gave the toy an extra good cleaning before use just to be safe, but it doesn’t seem to have been damaged.

The packaging includes a colorful insert with the general photos of some random chick and the toy. There is also a small folded paper insert of vibrator instructions which I sat aside to look over more careful for the review, and then promptly lost. Oops.

Overall, I was really pleasantly surprised by this toy. For an under $40 jelly vibrator, my expectations weren't huge, but this is actually one that will make it out of the toy drawer pretty often. The shape and size are great, bending the shaft actually holds up during use, and it isn't loud. I did find myself wishing that the vibrations could go up just a *little* higher, but they are a solid 4/5.

The main thing I don't like other than the jelly material is the weird shape of the clit stimulator. The part where the rabbit ears would usually be is a little sharp, which can obviously be uncomfortable. This part of the toy also doesn't fit my anatomy well- if I use it normally, it is way too long, and if I bend the end back to make it hit the right spot, the vibrations suffer.

The narrower shaft end where the batteries go doesn't provide the most comfortable spot to hold during use. A more comfortable grip would be nice, but isn't a big detractor from the overall enjoyment.
