Reflections beauty - traditional vibrator by Doc Johnson - review by Hex

Reflections Beauty is a fun glass vibrator and I would recommend it for solo vaginal use, though couples play with it is also fun. Personally, I found that the vibrations of this toy made it pleasing to use as a clitoral simulator and that is often how my partner used it on me as well. Since it is waterproof, it also adds a little spice to solo showers...or couples showers.

I cannot/would not recommend this toy for anal use because it lacks a flared base.

Beauty is made of Pyrex and because of this I found that if it was sitting in its pouch in my room at first use it was cold (which I like but some individuals may not). If you are not too familiar with Pyrex it is non-porous and feels nice to the touch (almost a soft velvety feeling which is a nice touch for a glass vibrator).

The texture of the toy is a wonderful touch but I found that too much thrusting could result in soreness after a while. This could easily be because of the texture or the length of the toy versus the reach of my arm (we will touch back up on this further below).

The Beauty has a tapered tip which is followed by deep ridges that circle the entirety of the toy. The toy is roughly 5 inches around at its thickest point and has 4 1/2 insertable inches.

Because the toy has such girth but does not have a lot on length, I found that with my short arms I sometimes had to strain to achieve orgasm and would often have a soreness near the top of my vaginal opening after a long session. So if you have short arms I would say this toy may not work with your anatomy!

In addition to the toy being short it has no handle of any kind and really no comfortable place or way to hold it which lead to some annoyances during solo use.

On the other hand, the size of the toy would be ideal for anyone who prefers girth to length and even travellers. The Beauty is very sturdy and strong and easy to store making it ideal for travel.

There is a design flaw I would like to mention. After about 1 1/2 years of owning the toy it began to come apart at the base. The actual vibrator itself is glued inside the glass exterior and eventually (after continuous wash and play) they will come apart.

The controls are extremely simple. There is one button and 3 levels of vibration. Click once for low, click again for medium, and once more for high. To turn it off you click once more from high. There is no travel lock so if you are travelling with this toy I would suggest removing the batteries.

Performance-wise it is a decent vibrator. I would give it 3 vrooms and 2 bees. Its vibrations are strong enough for someone who doesn't need a lot but if you are looking for a punch-packing toy this is not the one for you.

After 2 years of owning this toy, the motor began to die! I would suggest to anyone looking for a "long time companion" to seriously reconsider this. This toy may not be the bang for your buck that you are looking for.

The Beauty takes 1 AA battery and, as always with toys that use batteries, I suggest using a weaker battery (dollar general, perhaps?). The battery is inserted through a twist off top at the base of the toy (where the button is located), and it twists off easily and twists back on tightly.

Because the Beauty is made of Pyrex it can be used with all types of lubes and toy cleaners making care and maintenance on this toy extra simple! Store the toy in a toy pouch when not in use (it does not come with a toy pouch nor does it come with anything that can be used to store it).

I suggest washing the Beauty with pre-bought toy cleaner or with a 10% bleach solution. Because the Beauty is waterproof, you can just throw it in the sink and wash away without worrying about ruining the toy.

The packaging is a very simple plastic box that resembles something from the 80's (lots of swirly, groovy stuff on the front of the box). It lacks discretion and it is not an appropriate box to keep and store the Beauty in.

The package also does not include any pamphlets or booklets of information about the product or other products.

The vibrator began to come out of its glass casing at around a year and a half of ownership (probably due to continuous use and washing).

The motor began to die at around 2 years of ownership regardless of the fact that I made sure to use appropriate batteries.

I found this toy to be a bit too painful for insertion and resorted to using it more as a clitoral stimulator. The vibrations were decent but as the motor began to die, I was forced to throw it away and go looking for a higher quality toy.

Because I have short arms, the toy was a little hard to work with because it lacks a handle of any kind.
