Beautiful, Simple, and Pleasurable
The Insigno is nearly everything you want in a textured, traditional vibrator: silicone, body-safe, waterproof, powerful, easy-to-use and care for. Still, it's a beautiful, quality vibrator that I would recommend to friends and anyone interested in a simple yet powerful traditional vibrator.Published: July 5, 2010
Pros:
Waterproof, body-safe, powerful, textured.
Cons:
Not rechargeable, texture too slight.
Use
A simply designed traditional vibrator, the Insigno is best used for clitoral and vaginal stimulation. It can also be used on other areas of the body such as nipples, but is not recommended for anal use due to its lack of a flared based. This would be ideal for beginners and those who want texture, but nothing overwhelming. Advanced users will enjoy the Insigno as well. Great for couples and individuals, the Insigno can be used nearly anywhere at anytime.

Material / Texture
The Insigno is made of 100% anti-microbial silicone. This basically means that a body-safe additive was added to the silicone to prevent germs and bacteria from growing on its surface. It's non-porous, phthalate-free, and has no smell or taste. The silicone is appealing to the touch with just a hint of drag. There is a fleur-de-lis pattern all over the shaft that is slightly raised, giving the Insigno a mild texture. This vibrator is perfect for those who are curious about texture, but haven't tried any textured toys for fear of unpleasantness.

Design / Shape / Size
Not too big and not too small, the Insigno is great for beginners and advanced users alike. With no g-spot curve or bells and whistles, this is a straight-forward traditional vibrator. While not exactly discreet, the Insigno could be slipped into a mid-sized or larger purse or travel bag, so you can take it with you wherever you go. The overall length is 8" with 6 3/4" being insertable. The circumference at the widest spot is 5" or about 1/2" in diameter.

Functions / Performance / Controls
Powered by two AA batteries (included!), the vibrations can be felt throughout the Insigno and they are rather loud and buzzy. They will definitely be heard through covers and most likely through a closed door, so it's not ideal for playing with people nearby unless privacy is not a concern.
The controls are conveniently built-in and slightly raised, just like the pattern. They are located near the bottom of the shaft and are in the shape of a plus and negative signs. Pressing the plus button, there's a clicking sound, and thus begins the vibrations. The vibrations get stronger the more the plus button is pressed, eventually leading to the patterns. The patterns vary in intensity, and pressing the plus button after the last pattern starts you back at the beginning of the pattern settings. Pressing the negative button ceases the pattern and returns to its highest vibration setting. Holding the negative button for at least a second turns the Insigno off completely. After it has shut off, turning it back on once again starts the vibrations from the beginning.
The Insigno is 100% waterproof, so it can happily join you in the shower or bath.

Care and Maintenance
The Insigno is easy to clean. Just wash with warm water and antibacterial soap, spray it with a toy cleaner, or wipe down with a toy cleaning tissue. Although it is waterproof, it cannot be boiled and is not dishwasher safe.
Because it is silicone only water-based lubricants should be used with it. It can be stored in its original packaging or other suitable storage. It's best kept with other silicone toys because it can be damaged by non-silicone toys.

Packaging
The Insigno comes in a plain white box with a removable sheath that covers the front, back, top and bottom of the box. The front bears the product and company names as well as a life-size and full-color image of the Insigno. The back offers a promotional blurb of the SINFIVE collection in no less than fifteen languages. The plain white box features a flap that opens to reveal the Insigno nestled in a plastic form. There is no barrier, so the vibrator can be removed once the flap is opened.
Behind the plastic form lies a manual/instruction booklet (again in fifteen languages), a warranty postcard, and a pamphlet explaining the anti-microbial additive. The instructions are brief and basic, very straight-forward like the vibrator itself.

Experience
I found the Insigno to be easy-to-use and care for. Because of the slight drag from the silicone, it worked best for me with water-based lube. The texture was barely noticeable for me, but I tend to like more prominent textures. The powerful vibrations stimulated me well and I enjoyed feeling them internally and externally. It is one of the best traditional vibrators I've tried, if not the best.
