Because I'm Bad, Tonight, You're Riding On My Rocket
This Luv Touch Mighty Mite is a toy that really, really tries to be your friend. It's good at what it does, but when it comes time for the play to either stop or jump in the water, this pocket rocket falls short and doesn't ever quite get back up on its feet again.Published: August 18, 2011
Pros:
Powerful, Lovely shade of blue, Fun attachments
Cons:
One speed, NOT waterproof, Touchy battery compartment and power switch
Pipedream, you confuse me. You make high-quality glass toys that are simply to die for, and bondage gear that seems to be fairly decent, but you also make some of the cheesiest novelties, and your other toys are all over the place. I suppose there's nothing wrong with catering to all tastes, but something's amiss when you have trouble even getting the on/off switch of a vibrator to operate cleanly.
The Luv Touch Mighty Might (hereafter referred to as the Luv, because I'll be damned if I'm going to type the whole name over and over) is a pretty straightforward toy. It's a pocket rocket, meaning that its primary job is external stimulation, primarily the clitoris, and it's not recommended for internal usage. It's a plastic tube about as long as a pencil, and a little under an inch in diameter. There are two halves that screw together: the top half contains the motor, and the bottom half is the battery compartment. The juncture of the two halves serves as the power switch, but we'll get into that in a moment. There are also four attachments for the head, which slide on and off very easily. The plastic itself has a pleasant, velvety texture which makes it easy to hold onto.
Being plastic, it's safe to use with any lube should you opt to use lube externally (hey, I've done it). While you could potentially bleach it for cleaning, I would not recommend it because of the battery pack, for reasons explained below. Best to just carefully wash it with soap and water or toy cleaner.
Two AA batteries go into the Luv to make it go. It's pretty strong for something so small. There is only one speed, but this is partially made up for by the head attachments, which offer greater or lesser stimulation depending on which one you use. The first is completely smooth and round, the next has a few large flat nubs, the third has medium-sized pointed nubs, and the fourth has many tiny points. In my experience, the flat nubs and the tiny points offered the most intense stimulation, with the flats being my personal favorite.
The battery pack and power switch is where the toy begins to frustrate me. There are three little indicators written on the side: open, off, and on, as well as a little arrow that is meant to indicate which setting your toy is on. The open and off settings are fairly close together, while the on setting is farther over. To change between these, you twist the two halves of the toy accordingly. One would assume that the Luv would only turn on when the arrow lines up with the "on" setting, but this is not the case. Instead, it turns on even before the arrow reaches the "off" setting. Going in the other direction, the Luv will pop open very quickly and suddenly. This means you have an extremely small area on the dial where the toy is both closed and off - not exactly favorable when you need to turn it off in the heat of the moment, especially in the shower. On that note, no matter how careful I was with turning my toy off after shower play (even once leaving it on while I cleaned and dried it!) so that the battery compartment wouldn't open, water got inside every time, so I would NOT call this a waterproof toy, even though it is billed as such. Furthermore, because the window for the "off" setting is so narrow, it's liable to switch on or pop open with the slightest nudge, which is a waste of battery power.
It's a good toy if you need a lot of power, but there are so many others that are less irritating to use. I wouldn't call it a bad investment - it's just not the best.

Experience
A cookie to whoever gets the obscure musical reference in the title.
I'm aware that my Luv might be a fluke, since other reviewers seem to enjoy it just fine, so I'd be happy to hear any other experiences people have had with this pocket rocket.
My question is, since it's only a one-speed toy, why not just give it a push-button power switch instead of this dial-base variant? I'd be willing to give the Luv three or four stars if only the damn batteries would stay inside. It's nice and powerful, I LOVE the blue color, and the attachments add another layer to the fun, but I shouldn't have to be so overly cautious when turning it off.

Follow-up commentary
4 months after original review
I tried a few more times to make this toy work, but it just wasn't going to happen. The battery issue was just too much for me to overlook, and since I reserve vibes for the shower almost exclusively, the lack of proper waterproofing was the last straw.
I wanted to enjoy this one, but in the end I wound up tossing it. I can get a good traditional vibrator for the same price and get multiple speeds out of the deal, so it's highly doubtful that I'll invest in another pocket rocket anytime soon.

Thank you for viewing Luv touch mighty mite – pocket rocket review page!

Thanks for your review And..random: I almost always use lube for external stimulation! You do not, usually?
Lexical - more often than not, lube on the clit is incidental for me. I'll be using lube vaginally and it just happens to spread. Otherwise, I typically don't, especially if I'm not in the mood for a longer session, since the lack of friction makes everything take longer.
thanks for the review!
I've had a couple of toys with the type of controls/battery compartment you describe, and some are better than others. I still prefer the click button function. Too bad you got a wonky one!
Great review! Thanks!
Thanks for the review. Toys with only one speed annoy me, so I guess I'll pass on this one.
I'm staying away from toys that only have one setting. It could be VERY annoying sometimes... Well at least to me, more-so now that i've found some AMAZING ones with personalisation.
Thank you for the review
thanks for this review!
Wow, that does sound annoying. I've got one toy with a similar design, only the problem is getting it open to replace the batteries instead of the battery compartment popping open all the time.
Thanks for the review
Alyxx - I'd prefer your problem. Better the batteries be safe inside than at risk of falling out at any moment!
Nice review!
Thanks for the review.
