Big Love of Swordman

The Cupid Ripples could be a much better vibrator if it had a softer material. Unfortunately, it is quite abrasive. This is even more unfortunate considering the vibrations are pretty great. Another plus is that the noise level is very low and the toy is waterproof. It's just too much for me.

Use

No wonder Eden chose another name! Big Love of Swordman is the name of this toy that is displayed on the package. Swordsman is not even spelled right. This toy has a LOT of texture, girth, and is supposedly 100^ silicone also according to the package, but I don't believe that claim. It's TPR silicone at best. The material is soft, but not as soft as I expected making the rippling abrasive to those who are sensitive to texture, like me. I can't enjoy this toy internally at all. This is a shame because Cupid Ripples has great vibrations patterns, eight of them! I'm honestly surprised that this toy is supposed to be sold for over $30, though. It is totally not worth that. It does have a few perks though. It is waterproof and pretty quiet. If you enjoy texture like this, snatch it up while you can, otherwise, just pass.

Material / Texture

I don't have good things to say about the material. The package says it is made of 100% silicone which I totally do not believe. The product page says TPR silicone. It has a slight smell and totally feels like rubber, but chalkier. It has a weird powder on it that feels gross between my fingers. The material is firmer than I would have liked, especially for this type of texture. If this really is TPR silicone, it is semi porous and cannot be shared without a condom because it cannot be fully sterilized. I'd use a condom anyways since it dulls the texture and makes it loads easier to clean later. Good thing is that the material isn't a horrible lint magnet.

Design / Shape / Size

Cupid Ripples is 7 7/8" in total length. The insertable length is about 6", which should be adequate for most considering the girth. It's gradual, but it does reach a maximum girth of 5 1/5" in circumference. This vibrator starts off with a bulb. It is 1 1/8" long and 1 1/4" wide (3 7/8" in circumference). The rest of the shaft has a slight rippled effect with bulges of increasing thickness. The fine rippled texture starts after the first bulge. It ends 4 5/8" below the tip of the vibrator sit it does not go the entire length of the toy.

The Cupid ripples does not bend much at all. It has a very firm core. The only part that bends is the top inch. The bottom 1 5/8" is the cap and controls. The battery cap unscrews so that two AA batteries can be inserted. It's easy to remove and put back on. The base is rounded and easy to hold. On the bottom is a single push button. It's not the easiest to push and sometimes I found that I had to press it more than once to get it to change functions. The base does have squiggle designs of the same material as the shaft. it helps for gripping during use and for screwing the cap on and off.

The design is interesting, but it's not very discreet. It's also too large to be put in a purse. It does not weight a ton, so it would be fine for travel in a suitcase.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Cupid Ripples has some great vibrations! I may not be impressed with the material or texture, but the vibrations are rumbly, deep, and travel well. The vibrations don't travel ALL the way down the the battery cap, but they do travel through the first 2/3 - 3/4th of the toy. I'd consider the vibrations to be fairly strong, especially for a toy of this type, with this much texture and material. It has eight different settings.

1. Pressing the button once will start a relatively low level of vibration that only travels half way down the toy. It's strongest in the tip and can't be felt much while inserted, but it is strong enough to get me off clitorally. It just takes a while. The sounds is incredibly quiet. My boyfriend can't hear it while he is sitting on the couch across from me.

2. This level is also a steady vibration that travels further down the toy. Internally, it can be felt a lot better. The sound is still discreet.

3. Something strange happens with this level of increased steady vibration. It increases in the shaft, but for some reason becomes weaker in the tip. I was able to use the bulb at the end to finish clitorally from the 1st and 2nd levels, but not this one. This is the first level of vibration that can be heard across a room.

4. Starts off on a low level fluttering and increasing in power until it peaks on a high level and holds it there for awhile before repeating.

5. This level is a pulsing pattern on high and is louder than the previous settings.

6. Same as #5 but faster

7. A steady level higher and louder than #3

8. This level seems to be the same as level #1, but when you press the button again it turns the toy off. According to the package this is supposed to be a multi-speed vibration, but mine didn't do that.

Unfortunately, to turn the toy off you have to go through all the settings.

This toy is completely waterproof. It did pass my shower and tub test.

Care and Maintenance

I want to stress that using a condom with this toy is a good idea for a number of reasons. For one, the material composition isn't for certain. Two, the ridges collect body and lubricant goop. Three, the ridges are abrasive and a condom reduces this. Finally, the material isn't completely non-porous. It just makes for easier cleanup. Cleaning between the ridges can be a pain in the butt.

This toy should only be used with water based lubricant because we don't know exactly what the material is. it should also be stored away from other toys.

Personal comments

Oh man. Those people in China put weird text on their packages. I have had toys from this maker before, but they are not always under the same brand name. They always have the same seal on them "Quality Guarantee Sex Toy 1995".

"The massage and excite nipples, penis and clitoris." Is that a sentence?
"Sex toys bring more erotic pleasure to the world."
"Enjoy your happy life everyday!"
"Requires 2A AAA batteries. Please reference the illustration on the battery cave."
"Just for personal, make sure the product clean before and after use." I think they need to take another English class?

So yea. They packaging doesn't make me very confident in their product. The cardboard box has a window for the toy to be seen through. Inside the vibrator is encased in a plastic shell. You can throw the cardboard out and just keep the plastic if you want.

Experience

From the get go, I figured this toy would not be for me since the material is firmer than I expected it to be. I was right. No amount of lubricant makes this material feel good inside of me. It's less painful going in than it is to pull out, but it only took two thrusts for me to decide I was never going to try that again. It feels like the material is grabbing onto my inside and trying to rip them out! The texture is not completely useless though. it feels great being rubbed over the nipples and clit. I love the vibration patterns and the deep feel of them. Because of this it makes me really disappointed that I don't enjoy the texture.

I imagine that there is a woman out there who this is perfect for, but it's not a good match for my sensitive vagina.
Follow-up commentary
Due to the painful ridges, this toy was not one I kept. I would so love to see this redone in a softer material. I would try it again at that point. I'd only recommend this to those who love harsh textures.

Great review. From the looks of the product picture, I would never have guessed the material was so hard.

Thanks for the very informative review, Lauren! Ordered one of these for myself a few days ago.

Although, I do have a couple questions! Simple one first, do you know what other rebranded names Shaki Toys go under, or have a few examples of these rebranded toys?

And two, and this is the one that concerns me most, but were you able to clean off that strange powder on the surface of the material? If not, did it affect your body in any way? That certainly does sound quite sketchy.

    Thanks in advanced!

Oh boy, no I can't think of them. I know one of them is four letters, like an acronym. The powder did go away with washing eventually. It did not affect my body in any way.
