Butterfly by Vibratex

The first thing that struck me about the Butterfly by Vibratex is that it’s a very pretty toy. Although inconsequential in its use, the vibrator shaft lights up in a progressive pattern of rainbow colors when it is turned on. This obviously does not affect its performance, but it looks damn cool, especially in a darkened room.

The shape of the vibe itself is designed with just about everything one could want in a rabbit vibe. The head is bulbous and ribbed; the glittery, translucent pearls are housed in a ridged and swirled shaft; and the clitoral stimulator has antennae for clitoral stimulation, wings for labial stimulation, and ticklers to take care of the entire area. All of this is housed in a pretty purple elastomer casing. The vibe is not incredibly long, but it does pack some girth and the aforementioned bulbous head.

The vibe takes four AA batteries and packs a generous amount of power. The controls are very easy to use; a simple on/off switch and dials control the vibration of the clitoral stimulator and the swing of the shaft. I always like vibes with an on/off switch that doesn’t require scrolling down through the various functions and intensities.

My first orgasm from the Butterfly was actually a vaginal one, which is fairly unusual for me. The spinning beads and the prominent head definitely did the job though and got me there faster than the clitoral stimulator.

I found the best way to use the vibrator was just to adjust it until it felt good then squeeze it between my thighs so the rotation was taking place in the shaft and not the handle.

The clitoral stimulator came through on the second go around though and provided a very intense orgasm, especially when I used my finger to push it against me harder. Those little ticklers on the underside have a huge impact; believe me!

My only complaint about the Butterfly is that the shaft rotation slowed and even stopped on me several times when my vaginal muscles clenched too tightly. Of course, this happens at the worst possible time, but I was always able to fix the situation within a couple of seconds by simply relaxing slightly.

The vibe is also fairly noisy but nothing really out of the ordinary by rabbit style vibe standards. The shaft rotation and the clitoral stimulator are both fairly loud, so make sure you have some privacy when using this one.

All in all, I enjoyed the Butterfly vibe very much. It’s not the best rabbit vibe I’ve ever used, but it definitely ranks up near the top, especially in terms of clitoral stimulator design and internal stimulation. And it’s pretty, as well.

Really, this toy has just about everything; my only complaint is that I wish the shaft rotation stood up to external pressure just a little better. Still, for the price, this vibe is a quality investment, and I heartily recommend it.

Since publishing my original review, I've had 2 friends tell me that this vibe has been more effective than any other in helping them locating and stimulating their g-spots. I think the bulbous head and shorter shaft make this toy idea for the g-spot explorer, and the clitoral stimulator is well-designed and definitely capable of picking up the slack until you find just the right g-spot setting and location.
